Give Descriptions of the tools and Pic/Symbols Of Tools
1. Rectangular Marquee Tool

The Rectangular Marquee Tool creates rectangular selections:


1. In the Toolbox, select the Rectangular Marquee
Tool
2. Drag it on your image holding down the left mouse button.
3. While the New selection option is chosen on the Options bar, you delete
the existing selection by making a new selection.
4. To add an area to the existing selection you have either to choose the Add
to selection
option on the Options bar or to hold down [Shift] key while
selecting.
5. To subtract an area from the existing selection you have either to choose
the Subtract from selection

6. To intersect an area with the existing selection you have either to choose

9. To create a selection with the predefined size choose the Fixed Size style on
the Options bar and set Width and Height values.
10. While the New selection option is chosen and the cursor is within the selected area the
tool looks like this

The Elliptical Marquee Tool creates elliptical selections:

The Magnetic Lasso Tool creates selections, automatically clinging to edges of contrast
objects:

In the Toolbox, select the Magnetic Lasso

Width defines the range, where the tool detects edges.

Edge Contrast defines tool's sensitivity

Frequency defines how often the tool sets anchor points.

6. Magic Wand Tool

Using the Magic Wand Tool

Select the magic wand tool in the toolbox.

In the options bar, select a Tolerance value (0 to 255). This determines how closely to match colours
- higher tolerance means a larger selection.

Check Anti-aliased to define a smooth edge to the selection.

Check Contiguous to select only areas which are joined together.

Check Use All Layers to select areas from all layers.

Click the image in an area which you want to select.

7. Crop Tool

Using the Crop Tool

Select the crop tool in the toolbox.

Select an area of the image to retain (just the same as making a normal selection).

When you release the mouse button, the area to be retained is highlighted. This is what the new
image will look like.

You can move or transform the crop area by dragging the selection or the selection handles.

Hit your Enter key to perform the crop.

The result of the example above looks like this:

8. Healing Brush Tool

Photoshop Healing Brush


The Healing Brush tool allows you to fix image imperfections such as scratches, blemishes, etc. By
sampling the surrounding area or using a predefined pattern you can blend the imperfections into the rest of the
image.
The healing brush tool is located in the Photoshop Toolbox on the left
side.

9. Spot Healing BrushTool


Select the Spot Healing Brush from the Tools panel. You'll
find it grouped in with the other healing tools. If one of the other tools is showing in place of the Spot
Healing Brush, click on the tool and hold your mouse button down for a second or two until a small
fly-out menu appears, then select the Spot Healing Brush from the menu:

The Patch Tool retouches image using sampled pixels or pattern*.
It works as a combination of the Healing Brush
with the Lasso

11. Red Eye Tool


Select the Red Eye tool from the toolbar. You'll find it nested with the Spot Healing,
Healing, and Patch tools.

12. Clone Stamp Tool

Photoshop's clone stamp tool allows you to duplicate part of an image.
The process involves setting a sampling point in the image which will be used as a reference to create a new
cloned area.

By default, the Background Eraser is hiding behind Photoshop's regular Eraser Tool in the Tools
palette. To select it, click and hold your mouse button down on the Eraser Tool until a small fly-out
menu appears, then select theBackground Eraser Tool from the menu:

14. Magic Eraser Tool


In the same menu as the Erase and Background Erase tool you'll find a third eraser and this one's
called the Magic Eraser tool.

15. Colour Replacement Tool

The Color Replacement Tool was first introduced in Photoshop CS, and if you're using Photoshop
CS or CS2, you'll find the Color Replacement Tool nested under the Healing Brush in the Tools
palette. To access it, click and hold your mouse button down on the Healing Brush until a fly-out
menu appears, then select the Color Replacement Tool from the menu.

In Photoshop CS3, Adobe changed things around a bit and moved the Color Replacement Tool in
with the regular Brush Tool, so if you're using Photoshop CS3 or CS4 (which is what I'm using here),
click and hold your mouse button down on the Brush Tool, then select the Color Replacement
Tool from the fly-out menu:
