labeled "Market Price of Reference Feeds"). Today's market price of homegrown or purchased feeds can be
compared to their "Relative Value" based on the price of feed barley, canola meal or wheat DDGS or feed peas,
1:1 mineral and limestone.
Comparisons should only be made between feeds in similar categories. For example, you could compare the
Relative Feed Value of alfalfa hay to slough hay, but not to feed wheat. Feeding limitations and constraints of
each feed must also be considered.
Viewing the Cost minus Value column, a positive number means the market price is higher than the relative
value. A negative number means the relative value is greater than the market price. The larger the negative
