Overview
Info Input Solution is a web-based scanning software solution that enables users to scan documents from any remote location and deliver the captured information to an Enterprise Content
Management system, for storage or further processing.

New Features
This section provides information on the new features in v3.0

Version 3.0 introduces a new User Interface design, which improves the user experience.
Changes include:
o Modernized look and feel, with user customizable application theme and colors.
o Improved usability on tablet computers and other touchscreen devices.
Multi-lingual support:
o The User and Administration application interface is available in the following languages: English, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), German and Spanish.
o Upgraded the Tesseract OCR Engine to v3.02 for multiple language support.
o Enhanced Nuance PDF Text integration with OCR language selection.
o Mnemonics added for main toolbar buttons, Batch menu and Tools & Options menu.

o Server Administration capability added to the Client. It is now possible to modify the
Server parameters from the Client.
Batch Management:
o Asynchronous image download mechanism and enhanced error handling, when opening
a batch.
o The Server is notified when a new batch is created, and the batch is available in Batch
Manager before the batch gets uploaded to the Server.
o When downloading a large size image over a slow network, the user is allowed to
close/suspend/delete the batch, or to delete the page, without waiting for the download to be completed.
o Added functionality for Batch "Discard changes" operation; allows the user to discard
any changes made to the currently open batch and suspend it.
Job Administration:
o Added job level script method that allows for customized separation logic. Additional
functionality for blank page detection / deletion during scanning.
o The detected list of barcodes in a scanned page is sorted in display order, left-to-right
and top-to-bottom.
o Added limits to job name (60 chars), batch name (255 chars) and batch description
(1000 chars).
o Added support for the "batch." and "folder." prefixes in variable expressions.
Export Server:
o The Release Server system component is now named Export Server, to better describe
the extended functionality.

Added a new Export Destination, named File / folder Move, for moving or renaming a
file / folder within a file system.
o Added CSV template for Disk Export Destination Template.
Indexing:
o Removed SHORT and FLOAT field types: existing field types are mapped to INTEGER
and DOUBLE.
o Field type DATE is not allowed to have an empty (undefined) format.
o New Javascript method added in indexing script, which intercepts all key-presses in the
Indexing pane and can be used for implementation of hotkeys during Indexing.
o Indexing Script objects modified, to allow a script to assign field values to nodes other
than the current one (being indexed).
Annotations:
o Enhancement for using user-defined and language-specific Annotation images.
o Added support for obfuscation for Annotation images.
Remote Procedure Call mechanism enhancement:
o The Client-Server RPC mechanism enables code executing on the Client to invoke
code executing on the Server. Added object RpcServiceFactory to enable custom
client-side Java code to use the mechanism.
User Management:
o User Authentication against Active Directory.
o User, Group and License Group have been added to the public model, and have provided access to these objects for scripting.
Administration Tool:
o The Identification Information panel (DistinguishedNamePanel) has been simplified.

o The checkbox to Use Windows Login Credentials is not remembered at next login.
o The Batch Upload monitoring display does not refresh when hiding a column.
Job Setup:
o Cannot save duplicated Document Class with Index zone in Form Type.
o NPE when using JIDE filter and publishing a Job.

Fixed Issues in v3.0.1-4941C

Indexing:
o NPE when accessing index field values from a different index node level, using index script.
Client:
o On startup, the initial theme colors (which were used for the login dialog) where
'mixed' with the default blue theme colors.

Fixed Issues in v3.0

Client:
o All published Jobs are reloaded when the Jobs Setup dialog closes, causing long
wait period for the user.
o In "Manage Scan Profiles..." dialog, if the list with the scan profiles was sorted, then
double-clicking on an item would open up the wrong scan profile.
o When resizing the Client window in Multi Document Viewer mode, to a width not
sufficient to hold a single column of pages, an exception error is displayed and the
Client terminates.
o Possible NullPointerException when printing, if the selection does not contain pages.
Batch Management:
o Batches remain locked when network failures occur while opening / downloading.
o The batchStructureChanged javascript event is not called when a batch is opened
(only called for new batches).
o Error when saving a Job that was created by a User that has been deleted in the
meantime.
Job Administration:
o When a Job is published, the admin should close and re-open the Job Administration dialog to modify the Release Destinations included in this Job.
o When deleting a Release Configuration from an Index Class (Job, Document or
Folder) and adding a new one, then the deleted configuration re-appears.
o When adding a new Data Source, the Oracle JDBC URL template is wrong.
Scanning:
o Setting up a separation with a bar/patch code done with the 'delete page' option,
would misbehave when duplex scanning, if the batch/patch code was found in a
back-side page.
o The batch splitting logic does not move the thumbnails of the new batch.
o When importing pdf pages with binary images with no transparency, the resulting
image is wrongly rotated.
o Page Viewer zoom level is incorrect after 'invert' operation.
Indexing:
o The markValid / markInvalid flags on index field values are not properly set / restored on startup of the Indexing panel.
o The javascript variable 'node' is of wrong type, causing script errors in indexing
scripts.

Duplicating nodes and keeping index data is keeping references to the original index values.
Date range validation fails with 2-digit year date entry.
Numeric data type considers all negative numbers as invalid.
Field Validation during Indexing fails when using multiple Allowed Ranges.
Possible NullPointerException while indexing with multiple lists, sticky and filtered
fields.
Possible NullPointerException when executing DB action on an empty field.
If a DB action is linked with a field and has the validate option, focus will not shift
out, even if the field is empty.

Export:
o Images Export fails with grayscale image when converting to PDF.
NGenuity scanner model:
o B&W images are not compressed in the spool directory. They are not compressed
using CCITT Group 4 compression
o The VRS application stayed open after scanning.

Known issues
The following are known issues with v3.0.2-4970C

IT133: Scanning/Importing: Interrupting a Scan operation does not stop the scanner immediately.

IT174: Scanning/Importing: Inconsistent file naming for copied eDocs when saving a batch.

IT155: Scripting: Post Process Node Fields not being saved.

IT296: If both JRE 1.7 (or later) and JRE 1.6 are installed, and JRE 1.6 is selected to run applets in the browser, the application will fail to start.

IT341: Indexing Database action for "Auto-Fill other Index Field(s)" cannot fill multiple fields
with the same DB column.

IT350: When a batch is restored from local disk, some recent changes like splitting, adding edocs or appending, may not be saved.

IT354: When duplicating selected Document(s) in a Job with "Disabled Indexing", the user is
asked to keep Indexing data.

IT356: When updating a Data Source or Scan Profile, currently connected users with job(s)
affected are not notified unless the related job(s) are re-published.

IT359: An Announcement body text can be left empty, when modifying an existing one.

IT361: The Client can overwrite the Batch priority of an open batch, previously modified by a
Batch admin using Batch Manager.
