Department of Civil Engineering

Prof. A. D. Bhosale, HOD
"The Best creator after GOD is Civil Engineer"
Thus goes the famous quote. Indeed in the words of famous historian, John Prebble, Architects
and engineers are among the most fortunate of men since they build their own monuments with
public consent, public approval and often public money
One of the largest branches of engineering, civil engineering is a field that deals with buildings,
bridges, dams, roads, and other structures. The career of a civil engineer involves him to plan,
design, and supervise the construction of facilities such as high-rise buildings, airports, water
treatment centers, and sanitation plants etc.
Civil engineering is about the design and planning, construction, supervision, quality control and
maintenance of physical structures, such as buildings, roads, bridges, dams, canals, sea ports,
power plants and airports. Specializations include structure, transportation, geo-technical and
geo-environmental, and water resources engineering. Employers include municipal bodies, the
defence forces, National Highway Authority of India, government development arms like the
DDA and Noida Authority, BHEL, Larsen & Toubro, etc.
A career as a Civil Engineer opens up a vast world of imagination and dreams for the incumbent.
The field of civil engineering is so vast that one cant limit oneself to any particular field and
excel without having a proper knowledge of other related fields.
Civil Engineering Department has been established in year 2010-11 with intake capacity of 60
students. The department has excellent infrastructure, advanced Laboratory Facility & Highly
Qualified & experienced faculty, department conduct many other activity to enhance the
knowledge of the students and staff.
