Scope of the Position


The Grant Writer/intern would report to the Head of Resource Development and is responsible for researching grant/funding
opportunities and writing grant proposals to secure financial support for organizations priorities.
This intern will have goals based on the number and quality of proposals for both national and local companies/foundations. The
Grant Writer will work closely with the dreamfly leadership to develop fundable gift opportunities from innovative ideas and research
projects that can be marketed effectively.

Conduct research on potential funding sources.


Work closely with dreamfly leadership in developing and transforming ideas into grant proposals; interact with
organizations constituencies involved in grant-funding activities.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of particular areas, involved in identifying and soliciting grants; may collaborate with
various internal departments.
Research, identify, engage and cultivate prospect corporate and foundation funding sources.
Research, write, review, and edit grant proposals; conduct library and electronic research; compile data, inputs and retrieve
data via computer.
Write grant proposals and reports.
Develop and steward contacts with our current and prospective funders to meet mutually beneficial needs and priorities.

Support development team in execution of annual fund and other fundraising related activities as needed.

Required Qualification, Experience and Skills

Qualification

Bachelors student from an accredited college/university. Preferably Sophomore/junior year.

Experience

Reasonable experience in successful sponsorship development and monitoring for extra/cocurricular student societies/clubs of college/university.

Skill Required

Knowledge of grant writing

Writing and research skills

Ability to listen to and convert information into grant proposals

Ability to work collaboratively with dreamfly leadership in various disciplines

Excellent oral and written communications skills, project management skills, and strong
attention to detail.

Demonstrated ability to relate well to and understand the needs and interests of funders in
order to develop relationships between them and the organizations.

Ability to promote the organizations fundraising and strategic priorities by developing


excellent working relations with leadership, not -for-profit local/international originations
and senior corporate/foundation executives.

Back in 2007, dreamfly was founded by Umaimah Mendhro to encourage the children of her village to dare to dream; to
globally connect with those who share the same dreams as theirs and to become considerate citizens. dreamfly started
with its mission in Pakistan by building a primary school in a village Akri, situated in Sindhs coastal district Golarchi.
Since that time, dreamfly has expanded its projects to several other countries, such as India, Afghanistan, Rwanda and
Colombia, thereby embarking on a global mission of connecting the societies in conflict and empowering them.
