PROGRAMME OBJECTIVE

The growth of any sector depends on the availability and

accessibility of energy and efficient utilization of the same
and the automotive sector is no exception. The automotive
sector has grown by leaps and bounds in the past few
decades causing the ever-growing demand for fuel efficient,
less polluting vehicles burgeoning along with it.
This programme covers the advancements in IC Engines
and alternate fuels for improved efficiency and reduced
emission such as combustion fundamentals, emission
controls, norms and after treatment in engines, cylinder
pressure measurement and heat release analysis, CFD
analysis on automotive components, combustion diagnostics,
alternative fuels, HCCI and stratified charge Engines, GDI,
CRDI, dual fuel and lean burn engines, fuel cells and solar
energy technologies, and alternate power train systems such
as electric and hybrid fuel cell vehicle technologies. The
objective is to prepare the participants to involve in engine
research by introducing them to current trends and advances
in the field.
TOPICS TO BE COVERED
o Engine materials and manufacturing
o Combustion & CFD analysis on automotive components
o New engine concepts HCCI, GDI, CRDI
o Engine performance analysis
o Electronic engine management
o Alternate Fuels and its characteristics
o Alternative Power Train - Electric, Solar, Fuel cell and
Hybrid Vehicles
o Emissions from SI and CI engines & Control Strategies
SPEAKERS
The resource persons will be from leading industries like
Bosch, AVL India Pvt. Ltd. and academic institutes such as
IITs, NITs and PSG College of Technology.
