HOLIDAYS HOME WORK
CLASS-VI
SUBJECT-ENGLISH
1) Make an attractive bookmark that you will that you will be able to use. Write
an inspiring quote.
2) Read the novel Oliver Twist and answer the following questions:
a) Name all the characters and their relationship to one another.
b) Which character did you like the most and why?
c) Narrate any one interesting incident from the story.
d) Find out at least 10 new words from each chapter and write their meanings
and its part of speech.
3) Write on a piece of paper-any act of kindness you have done & decorate it.
Bring the paper and put in box after vacations. Decorate it and do not mention
your name on it. Remember kindness doesnt ask for rewards. The best one will be
put on bulletin board.
4) Learn the spellings of 100 words already given in the diary for spelling
competition.

SUBJECT-SOCIAL STUDIES
1. Prepare a project file using A4 sheets with following details:
Information on National Parks, Wildlife Sanctuaries and Biosphere reserves (2
each) in India.
Give the importance of National Parks and Sanctuaries in protecting animals.
The project must contain pictures and articles related to the topic.

2. Draw a large map of India. Mark the major mountain ranges, plateaus and the
plains on it. Make some dough by mixing flour, water and a pinch of salt. Paste
same dough on the plateau regions to make them higher than the plains. Flatten the
tops of your plateaus. Make models of mountain ranges along with the lines marking
their locations. Make the Himalayan Mountain the highest and most pointed. After
your model is dry, paint the plains green, the deserts yellow and the highlands
brown.

3. Collect information about one ancient monument of India and make a project on
it.

4. Make a project on various types of Government in Indias neighbouring countries.
(Roll no 31 onwards)

1. Make one article using waste or trash available at your home to learn how to
recycle things.

3. You are what you eat: Make a list of food items used at home. Categorize them
