InventorTools(XTools)addonapplicationforInventor
ThepluginapplicationCADStudioInventorTools(XTools)makesthemostpopulariPropertytoolsavailableinAutodeskInventor2013/2014/2015andfirstofallitextendsthisfunctionality.Itaddsaseriesofautomaticallyupdatedproperties
(iPropertyfields)intothedocument(drawing)environment.ItalsoaddsotherusefulfunctionstomakedesigninginInventormoreeffective.ItisalsoavailableinafreeversionXToolsLT.
Therearetwomethodsforfillinginthevalues.ThefirstonearecustompropertiessimilartotheiPropertytool.Onlytheexistingpropertiesarefilledbydefault.Ifyouwanttoforcecreatingtheseproperties,checktheoption"Createpropertyif
needed"intheSettingsdialog(itwillbecreatedautomaticallyonthefirstsaveofthedocument).Thesecondmethodisatextfieldwithatitleblockprompt.ForthismethodyouneedtosettheinputpromptintheSettingsdialog.Ifthetitleblock
promptandthesettingspromptdonotmatch,theparticularpropertywillnotbefilledin.Thisinputmethodcanhandlesomepropertieswhichdifferontheindividualsheets(Sheetformat,basescale,etc.).

UsingInventorTools
"XTools"isanaddon.NETapplication(plugin)forthe32bitand64bitversionsofInventor2013,2014and2015.Itsautomaticinstallationcreatesribbonstorunthefunctions(ribbonPlugins>XTools).TheXToolsapplicationsettingsdialogcan
beusedtoadjusttheapplicationoptions,choosethetypesandparametersfortheautomaticproperties.Allpresetpropertynames(seebelow)canbemodified.
Document
OntheDocumenttabyoucansettheparametersfortheautomaticpropertyLastSaveDate(date/timeofthelastsave)fortheindividualdocumenttypesassemblies(IAM),parts(IPT),drawings(IDW/DWG),presentations(IPN).Youcan
specifytheformatfordateandtime(e.g.dd.MM.yyyyhh:mm).
ThepropertyMassreflectsthecurrentmass(weight)ofthepartorassemblyfromthephysicalpropertiesofthemodel.

Drawing
OntheDrawingtabyoucancontroltheiPropertyPaperSize,includingsomeoversizeformatsaccordingtoISO.Thetextfieldsofscales(FirstViewScaleandOtherScales)aredrivenbythefirstviewonthe
currentsheetand(inparentheses)byotherscalesonthecurrentsheet.Youcancontrolthedisplayformatofthescalelist.Youcanalsosettheprefix,suffixanddelimitersoftheindividualscales.

Sheetmetal
OnttehSheetmetaltabyoucanspecifythecustompropertyoftheunfoldedsize(ifthereisanunfold)SM_Extentsinthedocumentunits(forthespecifiednumberofdecimalplaces).Youcanalsoworkwiththe
sheetmetalthickness(SM_Thickness),andwiththeindividualvaluesofthesheetmetalsize(SM_LengthandSM_Width).

Filenames(notinLT)
OntheFilenamestabyoucansetautomaticrenamingoffiles(members)intheframegeneratorassemblies.Youcansetprefixesandsuffixesforthenames,theformatofautomaticconterandlabelfortheframeandskeletonassembly.
QRcodes(advancedsettings)
TheQRcodessettingcanspecifythenamesofcustompropertieswhichareusedtogeneratedynamicmarkerswithbarcodes(QRcodes)forthedrawings.Soyoucanconvertanypropertyofthemodel(part/assembly)oracombinationof
themtoamachinereadableQRcodeplacedinthedrawing(e.g.inthetitleblock).

TheQuickAcceesToolbar(QAT)offerstwoiconstoquicklyaccesscustom(added)properties(e.g.stocknumber)andtoperformXToolssettings.Thefunction"Customdialog"allowstocreateyourowndialogforquickentryofthedocument
iProperties.Thisdialogthendisplaysonlythosepropertiesselectedforfillin(canbedifferentfordifferenttypesofdocuments).Thesettingcanbeperformedintheadvancedconfiguration(seeHelp).

TheToolsribboncontainsatabnamed"Helpdesk"withfunctionsforaccessingHelpdeskandpostingsupportdatatotheCADStudio'stechnicalsupport.

"Projectorigin"automaticallyprojectsoriginofthepartcoordinatesystemtothecurrentsketch.Thefunction"Asconstruction"convertsallprojectededgesinthecurrentsketchto
construction.Otherentitiesareleftintact.
BOM

FunctionsforBOMnumberingCopypositions,Synchronizepositions,Updatestructuredpositions.Thefunctiom"Copyitemnumbers"copiesitemnumbersfroma"partsonly"BOMtoa"structured"BOM.Thiscommandsetstheitemnumbersofall
partsintheStructuredBOMtothesamevaluesasthesamepartshaveinthePartsonlyBOM.Theitemnumbersthencontinuesothatnoduplicateswillbecreated.
FrameGenerator

Ifthetool"Setnamestoframegeneratorfiles"isactive,itautomaticallysetsfilenamestofilescreatedbytheFrameGenerator.ThefilenameformatisconfigurableintheAdvancedconfig.

Inthedrawingenvironmentyoucanfind(Annotationribbon)anewtabXToolswithfunctionsforaddingtextsandsymbolstodimensionsandforinsertingQRcodes.

Theapplicationsettingsoffersasimplemodeorafullydetailedoptionsettingsintheadvancedmode.AllthestepsoftheXToolsapplicationcanbeloggedtoaLOGfile.APDFhelpisavailable.
InventorToolsalsoallowtoautomateInventorproceduresusingVBAeventsandiLogicextensionsinapplicationmacros.YoucanrunexternaliLogicrulesbeforeandafterdocumentsavetheserulesareexecutedonalldocuments.Youcancreate
yourownmenu/ribbonbuttonsforyouriLogicruleswiththeXMLdefinitionfileCommandsConfiguration.xml.
PublishingiMatescreatescopiesofiMatesontheassemblylevel(e.g.forprocessingmalefemaleconnectorsnotonthesameassemblylevel).
