HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 8:00, 9:00 & 11:00A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER
Chronological Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 61-18; John 11:1-28
Monday, June 1
Isa. 30:19 For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more:
he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer
thee.
O Lord God:
You are my strength and my hope! I approach you through Jesus Christ
your Son with the audacity of hope and thoughts of thanksgiving, because even
though my current reality looks bleak, I am not ashamed of my hope.
Psa. 125:1 They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be
removed, but abideth for ever.
I trusted in you with my insurmountable sins, and you threw them all
behind your back. I trusted in you when many haters surrounded me and I was
viciously whipped by temptation, and you brought me into a safe place. You set
my feet on a Rock, who is Jesus. I have trusted in you (alas, too feebly!) in the
hours when I was troubled about earthly issues and still you did not fail me, even
when my faith wavered. Even when I disbelieved, you still remained faithful. You
helped me, Lord. You were my strength and help all along. Now help
__________ and __________ to trust you as well!
Psa. 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him
out of them all.
At this moment, looking back on my past, I have nothing to do but adore
you. I adore your for the consistency of your love, and admire you for the
capacity of your grace. I am living in Zion to praise you. Let summer come again
to those who are faltering. Let me not get weary in witnessing and well doing for
you, because I remember what you went through for my sake. Help me by your
Spirit to lift the name of Jesus high today! Amen.
A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING
Chronological Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 25-27; John 13
Thursday, June 4
Josh 4:7 the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord;
and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.

THIS is my desire: to honor You. Lord with all my heart I worship You.
All I have within me, I give You praise. All that I adore is in You.
Lord I give You my heart, I give You my soul. I live for You alone.
Every breath that I take, every moment Im awake,
Lord have Your way in me.
How great is our God, sing with me, how great is our God,
All will see how great, How great Is our God
The splendor of a King, clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice, all the earth rejoice
He wraps himself in light, and darkness tries to hide
And trembles at his voice, and trembles at his voice
Age to age he stands and time is in His Hands
Beginning and the End, beginning and the End
The Godhead, Three in one Father, Spirit, Son
The Lion and the Lamb, the Lion and the Lamb
How great is our God, sing with me, how great is our God,
All will see how great, How great Is our God

TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS LIFE

Chronological Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 19-21; John 11:29-57
Tuesday, June 2
John 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
God of Infinite Power:
Jesus has left me, yet I am not alone. He is gone, but I am not orphaned.
My comfort this week is this claim I make: Christ will come to me in the Holy
Spirit. He will console me with tokens of his Spirit and his Word, and this is
comfort enough. It will sustain me through his prolonged absence.
Rev. 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen.
Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
I thank you Lord, because you are on your way. No one can prevent your
return, or put it off for even fifteen minutes. Your coming will be to me and for
me. That is my comfort today, while I mourn that you have not yet appeared.
It is when I lose the joyful sense of your presence that I get overwhelmed
by the cares of this life. But I dont have to sorrow as others who have no hope.
You are hidden for a minute, but will return in full force. You are gone only in a
sense, because when you went you left behind a pledge.
I can exist, but I dont have life if I don't have a sense of your presence. I
seek that today with your smile. I sigh for your blessing. Will you come unto me?
I am sure you will appear eventually, but right now be swiftlike Solomon
describes you in the voice of the Shulamite maiden,
Song 2:9 My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he standeth behind our
wall, he looketh forth at the windows, showing himself through the lattice.
Right now I see you only through the curtains. Show yourself clearly on my
behalf as I seek your will in my world. In Jesus name I ask it. Amen.
Psa. 40:17 But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my
help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.
FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY
Chronological Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 28-30; John 14
Friday, June 5

WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 22-24; John 12
Wednesday, June 3
Hosea 11:9 I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy
Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter
into the city.
Holy One and Heavenly Father:
Sometimes it seems like every trial threatens quick destruction. I cling to
this verse like a life-vest, to hold my head above despair. Revive me again! If I am
under your displeasure, then I know you are inviting me to consider my ways and
confess my sins. If you were not such a friend and lover of my soul, you would
have cut me off completely long ago. If you were now to act after the manner of
men, it would be a word and a blow, and that would be the end. But it is not so,
Psa. 103:11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward
them that fear him.
I can tell when the Spirit is grieved and you are angry. Thank you Lord, for
not keeping your anger forever. Because when I turn from my sin to Jesus, you
turn from your wrath to mercy. And since you are God and not man, there is still
forgiveness, pardon and cleansing for me (even though I feel up to my neck in
iniquity).
I praise you I have God to deal with, and not man. No human being could
have such patience with me and my sins. I would have worn-out an angel and
made a preacher cuss! But love is longsuffering and you are love.
Lord, there are others who need to come back to us, and thereby return to
you. I pray for their revival; oh, that they might try you today, confess, repent and
turn from their evil way, because then they will find life and love everlasting.
Give us souls! Make us flower and flourish in the power of your Spirit. We
crave to see you work among us for Jesus sake. Amen.
SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS
Chronological Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 31-33; John 15
Saturday, June 6

Rev. 2:7 To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the
midst of the paradise of God.

Psa. 49:3 My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be
of understanding.

Wise and Holy Heavenly Father:

How many times have we turned our backs in the day of battle, and refused
to go to war for holiness? We know your Word says that to sit where you sit we
must suffer like you suffered. When Paul returned to visit new Christians he was,
Acts 14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in
the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
We will enter but will we reign? We will reign with you up there no more
than we allowed you to reign over us down here. Help us carry out your
warfare this week until we completely overcome the evil one!
v Help us overcome the false prophets and false-faith persuasions, in
cult groups and false churches, who come into our work and knock at the
door of our homes. They try to lead astray anyone we lead to Christ.
v Help us overcome the false ways of the sin that so easily surrounds
us: our adversary who seeks to thwart us in living for your Eternal Purpose.
v Help us overcome our faintness of heart, and foolish emotions,
which tend to cause us to leave our first love for Jesus Christ alone.
The only way to win revival is by grace. Then we will truly follow our
conquering Captain, the author of salvation, and be allowed into the very center
of his rule. We will be able to pass by the cherub with its flaming sword, come
into that guarded garden, and live forever in closest fellowship with Christ. Make
us willing to endure anything for the sake of the cross and Christlikeness! To
flee the conflict is to lose the joy of victory. Give us courage to capture a new and
better Eden, for this is what Jesus purchased for us with his blood. Amen.

Only Wise and Mighty God:

Everyone wants wisdom. Since I have to appear before the judgment seat
of Christ someday, help me pay attention to anything that will make me more
prepared. Make it the meditation of my heart today!
LET ME START WITH LISTENING TO THE STILL, SMALL VOICE OF YOUR
SPIRIT. He moves. I want to listen so well I can transmit his signals to others.
Make me obey his promptings immediately.
Psa. 49:5 Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels
shall compass me about?
HELP ME LOOK CALMLY FORWARD TO THE DARK TIMES that dog my heels
throughout this life. The evil that tries to trip me up, or slow me down, often
overtakes me.
In some dreary part of the road ahead, Satan will grow stronger and bolder.
Often Lord, he gains on me and then openly attacksthrough my family, my
coworkers, or friends. What then? Time to turn coward? God forbid! What are
my foes but tools to prove my steadfast trust in you?
There can be no reason for me to be afraid if my heart meditates on
wisdom. Even my greatest enemies are too insignificant to be worthy of my fear.
When I contrast my Rock with theirs, it is foolish to be afraid! They brag very
loudly, but I can only smile. I glory in you Lord, and have no reason to be
frightened by Satans threats.
Great strength makes wicked men proud to do evil. I stand before you in
humility, pleading your strength as my only trust. I do so in Jesus name. Amen.

HOW TO BUILD A BALANCED LIFE

THIS WEEKS EVENTS & ACTIVITIES

PRAYER DIARY

TIMEWORSHIP
Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.
2)

TITHEWORK
1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as
God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions

asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.
3)

TEAMWORD
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)

Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.
Alan

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
