ABSTRACT
The spread of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) in Indonesia is difficult
because the source was never traced the registration done on patients who are found,
therefore it was necessary for the prevention of transmission of Sexually Transmitted
Infections Diseases Primarily On Commercial Sex Workers
This research aims to determine the relationship of knowledge and attitudes
of female commercial sex workers with measures of disease prevention of sexually
transmitted infections in Bandar Baru Kecamatan Sibolangit 2012. This research
uses a survey of analytical design methods to look at the relationship of knowledge
and attitudes with measures of disease prevention sexually transmitted infections by
using a design of a cross sectional study with interviews using a questionnaire to 78
respondents who selected Accidental Sampling.
The results showed that respondents in the category of knowledge that is just
44 people (56.4%), the attitude of the respondents in good category 65 people
(83.3%), the action of respondents in good category 55 people (70.5% ). The results
showed that there was no significant association between knowledge of disease
prevention measures PSK with sexually transmitted infections (STIs) with (p = 0.50)
and no significant relationship between attitudes PSK with disease prevention
measures Seksial transmitted infections (STIs) with (p = 0,10)
PSK was expected to further increase the knowledge about the prevention of
