Once, there was a boy named Newmann. He lives in a broken family since young. His
father used to be a successful businessman but lately his business wasnt going well and has
financial concstraints due to economic crisis. His father started drinking and always returning
home drunk. His father often beat both wife and son until bruises were found all over the body.
One day, Newmann reached home from school and shouted

N: Mom, Im back!
No one answered. Then Newmann rushed into the house to find his mother. Then, he saw his
father slamming his moms face to the floor.
N : Dad! Stop it! Why you doing this?! *pushes dad away*
Hk: Its none of your business. Youre just a child. What would you know about life?! Better if
you were never born. *In a drunken state*
A :*Sobbing* How dare you said that to your child!? Its your fault that your business is not
going well. You should think twice before you spent all our lifes saving for your business that
you wasnt even sure would work.
Hk: How dare you challenge me?! * continue beating mom*. What you know about business? If
I never work this hard, you wouldnt experience this luxury.
A: I cant stand it any longer! After I recover, Im filing for divorce. Well meet in court.
Hk: You? You want to divorce me? HAHAHA! (Sarcasm). Go ahead. I wont hold you back. If
you want to divorce me, then get out from my house! *shouting*
N: No, mom! Dont do it, I beg u. I love dad just as much as I love you. Please dont.. *tears*
A:We cant stay here any longer. He keeps torturing us. Sooner or later, hell eventually kill us!

As a result, Newmanns mother divorced his father in court a week after the argument.
Newmann was given to his mother in the divorce. Newmann and his mother moved out from his
fathers house and start a new life in a small town called Not Big Town.
After the divorce, Newmanns mother had to work day and night, shifts after shifts to
support her sons study and the household. Each time Newmann had a problem, he didnt know
who to refer. That led him to self neglect and felt lonely.
The first day of school during recess, Newmann was all alone. Feeling left out, he went
to a small hut deep in the school. Then he met Hidayah, a quiet girl from his class.

N: Hey, arent you from my class? What are you doing here?
Hd: Im a new student here. So I dont get along with most of the students here. They think Im
weird.
N: *laughing* Looks like were on the same boat. Im new here too. Nice to meet you?
Hd: Hidayah. Pleasure meeting you.
N: Newmann.

Hidayah slowly became a part of Newmanns life. They hung out together most of the
time until that single day, Newmann decided to skip school. On his way to school, Newmann
noticed 2 of his classmates, Vishy and Haikal, hanging out in an alley. His classmates realized
that Newmann was watching them. Yusri whispered to Vishy.

Y: Oh, crap! Newmann spotted us.

V: So?
Y: Hell tell on us.

V: Why dont we take him hostage?

Y: Are you crazy? If we get caught, well be goners.
V:*knock yusris head* I meant invite him to come and join us.
Y: Owh!! Good idea.

They approached Newmann.

V: Hey, Newmann! Was sup my man? Where you heading? School? Haha *laughed*
Y: Lame Why dont you hangout with us? We promise well treat you nicely.
N: Erm Okay. But what are we going to do here? Its stinks here.
V: We hangout, stupid!
Y: Cool people do nothing. You got that?
N: Okay~ But isnt it weird for us to be hanging out in a small, stinky alley?
V: Good point. *Hand rubbing his beard*
Y: Lets get out of here.
*Run away*

Newmann finally felt accepted in the community. Meanwhile, Hidayah was wondering
about Newmanns absence from school. The next day, Hidayah went to confront Newmann.
Hd: Hey, Newmann!
N: Yes?
Hd: Why didnt you come to school yesterday? Did anything happen to you?
N: No. I was just hanging out with my friends. Thats all.
Hd: You skipped school just for that? *In rage*
N: So? *acting cool*
Hd: But thats like breaking the law! Only that its in school. *raise her voice*
N: What do you care? Its my life.
Hd: I do care! Were friends and as a friend Im here to guide you from making any wrong
decision in life.
N: I finally got accepted by others in this school, why couldnt you just be happy for me?
Hd: They are not your true friends! If they are, they wont be asking you to do things that might
ruin your future.
N: What you know? You only know how to hide yourself from everybody else! *Shouted*
*Newmann ran out*

As days passes by, their friendship had gotten worse. Newmann continued to hangout
with Vishy and Yusri. After a few hangouts, they introduced Newmann to cigarettes. He
hesitated.

Y: Here have some cigarettes.

N: Is it okay for us student?
V: Of course not. But were not going to live a long life or even a good one. So why not enjoy it
while it last?
Y: Yeah! Why not? Weve got nothing to lose. *Hand Newmann the cigarettes box*
N: Ill have one. *Reaching out for the cigarettes*

Newmann started using up his allowance to buy cigarettes. His mom was too busy with
work that she didnt even realize that her son was slowly turning rotten. Day by day, Newmann
was spending more of his time hanging out with his gang. One day, his school counselor saw
him in an alley with a few students that he could recognize. The school councilor hid herself
behind some boxes. She heard
N: Hey. Got any more cigarettes?
V: Were all out.
Y: Dont worry, well have plenty tomorrow.

The school counselor immediately retreats from that crowded area. The next day
Newmann was called upon with some others to the principals office. In his office, the principal
started asking
Hl: You know why I called you 3 in my office?
N/Y/V: No sir. We dont.
Hl: You all should be ashamed of your actions.
Y: But we didnt do anything wrong, sir.
Hl: Didnt do anything wrong? *In rage*. I know everything that happens in this school, so save
it. You 3 have been playing truant and not only that, you 3 have been smoking in the back alley
of the school.
V: Sir, whats your proof?
Hl: I was told by one of your teachers in this school about 3 of you.
V:Sir, please dont tell our parents. We swear we wont do it again.
Hl: Dont try to sweet talk your way through.
N: Sir, please forgive us, Im in a lot of stress.
Hl: Is this how you overcome your problems. I didnt want to do this but you guys leave me no
choice but to expel you. Im calling your parents. Stay here. *walk away*

V:Oh, crap! What now?

Y: My mom is going to kill me.

N: *look down*

Hl:*back* Ive called your parents. Newmann, I didnt expect to see you here, not like this. I
know your mom is divorce and have no time to look after you but this is not how you handle it.

N:*continue to look down*

Newmanns mother left her job after receiving a call from her sons principal.
Newmanns mother was shocked after hearing the news from the principal about her sons
problem. She begged the principal

A: I beg you! Please dont expel my son. I cant send him anywhere else. This is the only school
that would accept him.

Hl: But smoking is a felony in this school. If I dont expel him now, Im afraid that hell ruin our
schools reputation.

A: I swear that my son wont do it ever again. *kneel down*

Hl: Okay, but boys, if I ever catch you all smoking again. Ill have a zero tolerance.

At home, Newmann was scolded while being canned by his mom. Due to the painful
memories, Newmann ran out from his house as far as he could. He ended up in Vishys house.
Newmann approached Vishy.

V: I know you had a bad day. Why dont we go to my uncles pub? Its on the house.

N: Im not sure.

V: Dont worry. Ive invited Yusri too. Well party until we get wasted. How about it?

N: Then what are we still waiting here for? Lets go!*cheered up*

V: Now youre talking.

As they reached the pub, they saw Yusri. They went towards Yusri

V: Hey, Yusri! What are you doing out here?

Y: Waiting for you guys of course.

V: Youre just scared to enter. What are we doing outside here? Come, Ill show 2 around.
*entering the pub*

Y: Cant wait! *excited*

V: Hey, Newmann Youre awfully quiet. Got something on your mind?*curious*

N: Its my mom. She drives me crazy!

V: Not to worry. Heres a pill. You can have it. FOC!

N: What pill?

V: Just take it! Itll take you straight to heaven. I call it the sef pill. Short for Super Erotic
Fantasy pill.

N: These things are strong. You sure its safe?

Y: Of course! I just had 2 of them and Im heating up!! *Extreme*

Newmann followed.

N: Okay! Then Ill have no worries.

N: *Swallow pills* Hmm... It taste kind of weird.

Then, they drank beers, singing non-stop like insane people and then fell unconscious.
Newmann didnt go home for days.
After a few days has passed, Newmann finally returned home. Newmanns mom was in
tears worrying about Newmann. His mom didnt work for days because felt stressed out waiting
for Newmanns return.

A: Son, where have you been?

N: Nowhere.

A: Dont lie to me. You were with those two trouble maker again? And since when you started
drinking?!! ANSWER ME!! *in rage*

Newmann ignored his mom. He took a bath and head straight to school. Hidayah noticed
Newmann at the back of the class in a sick condition. She went over and asked.

Hd: Newmann, are you okay? You dont look well.

N: Im fine. Get lost. *emo*

Hd: What has gotten in you!? Youve turn into a monster.

N: What would you care?

Scared of Newmann, Hidayah returned to her seat. She decided to report him to the
teacher. The teacher sent him to the school counseling room. There the counselor asked him
things. Like

Hk: Newmann, are you okay?

N: Yes. Does it look like Im not?

Hk: You look pale. Newmann!! Have you been taking drugs? Tell me the truth.

N: No *grumpy*

Hk: I cant help you if you are so stubborn. All I can say is drugs ruin peoples life even the most
powerful.

N:*walk away*

After school, he went back to Vishys uncles pub. He went to talk to Vishy.

N: Yo!

V: Yo, bro! What are you doing here this early in the afternoon?

N: Im not going home. I dont want to see that witchs face.

V: Have some beer.

N: Thanks. youre still the best.

V: Hahaha Hey there is a new drug just came in stock. Want some? This is good stuff.

N: How much?

V: RM50. For you I give a discount. RM 30

N: Give me 1.

Newmann took the new drugs and slowly got addicted to it. Hidayah was worried about
Newmanns absence in class. She went over to Newmanns house to find him. She saw
Newmanns mom crying inside the house. She went in and asked his mom.

Hd: Hi, maam. Are you Newmanns mom?

A: *sobbing*. Yes.

Hd: Is everything ok?

A: *Sobbing* No! My sons a drug addict and I didnt see him for a week now.

Hd: Maam, Im his classmate. He has not been attending school too. Do you know where I
might find him?

A: *Sobbing* He always hangout with that two troublemakers, Vishy and Yusri. The last time I
saw them near this pub called Hobos Pub.

Hidayah thought to herself.

Hd: *thinking* I know that place! Its Vishys uncles pub.

Hd: Thanks maam, Ill try my best to bring him home. Excuse me.

A: One more thing.

Hd: Yes maam?

A: Dont call me maam.

Hidayah went to Hobos Pub in search of Newmann. She saw Newmann lying down there.
Hidayah approached him.

Hd: Newmann, look at you! Youre in a mess. Im taking you home.

N: Get lost!! *drugged*

Hd: No! Im bringing you home this instant!

She didnt realize that Newmann was too drugged to recognize her. Hidayah tried to bring
him home but her attempt failed. Newmanns friends chased her away but she refused. After that
incident, Hidayah never saw Newmann ever again. (or was never seen again)
One day, Newmann was all out of money, so he went home to steal some money from his
mother. But unfortunately his mother was home. She spotted him

A: You finally come home. I miss you. *wipping tears*

N: Im just here to borrow some money from you, and then Im gone.

A: You still taking drugs? Then theres no way Ill give you the money.

N: Im asking you nicely now.

A: Its a NO!

N: You leave me no choice

In rage, he took a knife and threatens her. But she refused to hand over the money. So he
stabbed her several times in the heart and ran off with the money he stole. His mother was left
dead. But is it worth it?
A few days later, the drugs that he been taking was classified as a deadly poison that will
cause sudden death. Newmann, Vishy and Yusri were last seen in Hobos Pub by one of the
students. 3 of them were found dead in a garbage ship.
The moral lesson is that, drugs are not only bad for health, but can also harm everyone
close to you including your loves one.
