SVP, Application Services Planning & Strategy (2014 2015)


Responsible for the portfolio of Technology Infrastructure initiatives, delivering 80+ projects yearly with an investment
of ~$70+ million. This included annual planning with business cases, governance, reporting, and resource
management. Additionally, handled the multi-year strategic planning for the department.
Developed a three year strategy for the next iteration of SunTrusts Disaster Recovery capability to simplify the
environment, improved testing, and create an active-active standard. Long tenured leader within the IT Disaster
Recovery Steering Committee.
Productive Mobility Program Personally partnered with Corporate Real Estate in the delivery of 200+ working spaces
that created highly collaborative / mobile working environments for 4,000-6,000 members of the organization. 18
major projects delivered in the past 3 years with upgrades across 45+ locations with a $15+ million investment.
Leveraged outside expertise to create a program for the implementation of industry best practices for resourcing
projects. This currently active effort has the opportunity to provide $17 million of labor annual efficiencies.
SVP, Technology Project Management Office (2012 2014)
Led and managed six teams with a staff of ~60 responsible for Portfolio Management and delivery of infrastructure
projects; Project Management governance overseeing the technology SDLC; ITIL/ITSM process ownership; Technology
Business Management; Technology Domain Management; and the $500+ million budget for all Infrastructure.
Digital Enterprise - Developed a program to transform SunTrust from a paper based organization / culture to a digital
operation. This multi-year effort was engineered to improve the customer experience, provide efficiencies via
technology, and institute a new culture throughout the bank. The largest win of this effort was raising adoption of
digital statements from ~25% to over 45%, saving $5+ millions of dollars annually on postage and printing.
Significant accomplishments in this role included: Development of a program to transform IT to be run as a business,
utilizing the Apptio tool; creation of a multiyear Asset Management mitigation program; establishment of Centers of
Excellence for both Project Management and Business Analysis; process changes to lean out project governance; the
implementation of a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program for Wireless Equipment, cutting the number of corporate
devices in half and saving $3 million annually; and several contract negotiations / renewals.
SVP, Infrastructure Planning Services (2007 2012)
Led a department of 70+ responsible for the delivery of infrastructure projects, technology lifecycle currency,
technology purchases, software license compliance, data center facility needs, due diligence processes to evaluate the
viability of potential acquisitions for technology infrastructure, DR standards compliance, and the $350 million budget
for the infrastructure division. Established a formal planning practice based on the ITIL Plan-Build-Run approach, along
with the creation of a project management office and associated methodologies.

End User Computing Responsible for the installation of technology at branches and other buildings. At our peak we
were refreshing ~6,000 workstations annually. In 2010 a $65 million investment was performed replacing all servers,
workstations, and network equipment across the 1,600+ branch footprint. The team also provided an enhanced
experience for our user community through new versions of Microsoft technologies and process enhancements.
Networking Ownership Served as the head for all networking services and hardware, managing vendor relationships
and negotiating contracts from 2004 through 2010. Oversaw both engineering and delivery. Accomplishments include
major conversions to maximize availability, initiating the transformation to converge Voice & Data, driving renewal,
and $30 million of annual contract efficiencies with increased capacity and performance.

SVP, Technology Operations & Networks (2003 2007)


24 x 7 Computer Operations / Networking - Oversight of daily operations, ensuring that processing service-level
agreements were met, providing timely restoration of service when outages occur, be it online systems, overnight
batch, networking, and the fleet of ATMs. Led and managed a team of 180+. Responsibilities also included network
engineering, delivery, and its $100 million budget, along with the enterprise automation and monitoring tools.
New Data Centers - Planned, built out a new core, and seamlessly relocated two major data centers: Atlanta (2004 60,000 sq. ft.), and Durham N.C. (2007 - 20,000 sq. ft.).
VP, Technology Operating Systems (2001 2003)
Mainframe Technical Support Oversaw the mainframe technical support teams responsible for operating systems,
program products, capacity, and support of application changes (network). Architected and delivered the 2003 Data
Center Strategy which resolved chronic performance issues while creating a highly available operating environment.
Disaster Recovery - Architected and led the implementation of a near time disaster recovery solution. This project
reduced our recovery time from 36 down to 4 hours.

Transformed the computing environment from one that was constantly struggling to meet service levels to providing
solid-dependable service along with Year 2000 upgrades. Oversaw all aspects for the computing infrastructure for
