METHOD STATEMENT FOR CHILLER INSTALLATION


1. GENERAL
1.1 This method statement describes the installation of chiller. Detail of the procedure contained
herein
may be modified based on the actual condition.
1.2 This method statement complies with manufacturers recommendation
2. Working Procedure
2.1 Installation of Chiller and vibration isolator.
a) Check builders works
b) Check unit no., type, capacity, model and flow direction of the chiller.
c) Check the dimensions of the chiller base, the fixing point and install expansion bolts in the
plinth
d) Check route lines direction of piping work, connection points and water flow direction
e) Check dimension and thickness of rubber pads for screw chiller (supply by manufacturer)
f) Check color code and operating height of spring isolators for centrifugal chiller. (supply by
manufacture)
g) Locate the chiller on the plinth with temporary supports at proper height
h) Install rubber pads or spring isolators at chiller base. Fix bolts, washers, nuts on rubber pads or
spring isolators and expansion bolts.
i) Remove temporary supports and level the chiller by adjusting spring isolator.
j) After installation, check visual appearance and mechanical security.
k) Protect the Chiller with plastic sheet.
l) Check the cleanness.

Installation of pipe work and accessories


Check builders works
Check route lines of the pipes run and connection points
Check valves, accessories and joints.
Check the longitudinal length of valves, pipe joints and accessories.
Fix pipe brackets.
Cut the black steel pipes to suitable length
Install the black steel pipes with valves, flexible connector and joints that suit to the clear space
at the proper height and position
h) Check flow direction of the flow switch

I) Install pressure gauges, flow switch, flow meter, thermometer and accessories.
j) After installation, check visual appearance and mechanical security.
k) Check the cleanliness and freedom from obstruction.

Installation of insulation
Check the surface area of chiller to be applied with insulation
Check the thickness of insulation required.
Check the Cleanliness and freedom from obstruction of the surface
Draw the sector on the insulation sheet and cut it.
Apply adhesive on the surface and wrap insulation
Apply adhesive at the edge of insulation for adjacent insulation sheet.
Check the cleanliness
Temporary protect by plastic sheet
Installation of insulation for chiller shall be made by specialists

3. Quality Controls
Preparing and installation work shall be perform in according with approved shop drawing and
acceptance by inspection and check list as per attachment

Check Routing line of piping csorh, Connection Points and Water Flow Direction
Check Dimension and Thickness of Rubber Pads Screw Chiller

Locate The Chiller on The Punth with Temporary Support at Proper Height
Install Rubber Pads or Spring Isolators at Chiller Base Fix bolts, Washers,
Nuts on Rubber Pads or Spring Isolators or Expansion Bolts
Remove Temporary Supports and Level The Chiller by Adjusting Spring Isolators
Install Pipes Work Valve and Accessories
Install of and Insulation
Check The Cleanness and Protect The Chiller With Plastic Sheet
