Chemical resistance

Cicol ET Screed provides an extremely hard wearing antiskid surface to a variety of substrates including concrete
and timber, ideally suited for car parks, walkways, wet
work industrial areas etc.

Fully cured Cicol ET Screed has been shown to be

resistant to petrol, kerosene, diesel, hydraulic fluids, dilute
mineral acids, alkalis and de-icing salts after continuous

immersion for 12 months at 20 C

Cicol ET Screed is applied to clean, sound, dry concrete

substrates which are free of any laitence, or loose
particles. Mechanical scarifying or blasting methods are
strongly recommended. Prepared concrete substrates
should be primed with Nitoprime 30 and Nitoprime 31.

The primer is applied by lambswool roller to provide a thin

even coverage. Avoid over application and puddles Cicol
ET Screed is applied on to the primer whilst it is still wet.

Description
Cicol ET Screed is a four component system based upon
solvent free, coal tar modified epoxy resins, amine curing
agents, chemically inert, graded silica fillers and a
specially selected silica aggregate of high crushing
strength. The components of Cicol ET Screed are
supplied in pre-weighed quantities ready to use on site.

Asphalt substrates
Cicol ET Screed can be applied onto asphalt substrates
provided they are clean, sound and dry. It is also
recommended that asphalt should be at least 12 months
old. The asphalt should be lightly grit blasted and/or
thoroughly degreased to remove any weakly bonded or
contaminated material to provide the desired surface. No
primer is required on asphalt.

Wooden substrates
Cicol ET Screed can be applied directly on to clean, dry
timber substrates.

Design criteria

Mixing

Cicol ET Screed is designed for application at a nominal

thickness of 5 mm.

Mix the two liquid components base and hardener

thoroughly using a forced action mixer such as a cretangle
or zyklos. Add the mineral fillers along with the aggregate
component and mix until a homogenous trowellable
consistency is formed. The total mixing operation should
take about 5 - 7 minutes. The Cicol ET Screed is now
ready to for use. Do not add thinners or solvent.

Laying

Coverage

Once mixed the Cicol ET Screed must be used within the

specified pot life. Cicol ET Screed is laid whilst the primer is
till tacky.

Cicol ET Screed:
Nitoprime Primer 30/31:

Only prime an area which can be overlaid with Cicol ET

Screed before the primer dries. Primed areas which, due to
unforeseen circumstance, have been allowed to dry should
be re-primed with Nitoprime 30 or Nitoprime 31.

Storage

The mixed Cicol ET Screed is raked to the required

thickness and tamped with a wooden float, or levelled with a
screeding bar to ensure full compaction. To provide as
close a textured finish as possible, finish off the process
using a steel trowel regularly cleaned.

Cicol ET Screed and Nitoprime Primer have a shelf life of 12

months when stored in warehouse conditions below 35 C.

Health and safety

Nitoprime 30, Nitoprime 31 and Fosroc Solvent should not
come into contact with the skin and eyes, or be swallowed.
Ensure adequate ventilation and avoid inhalation of
vapours. Some people are sensitive to resins, hardeners
and solvents. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and
eye protection. If working in confined areas, suitable
respiratory protective equipment must be used. The use of
barrier creams provide additional skin protection. In case of
contact with skin, rinse with plenty of clean water, then
cleanse with soap and water. Do not use solvent. In case
of contact wit eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean
water and seek medical advice. If swallowed seek medical
attention immediately - do not induce vomiting.

Joints
Expansion joints in the existing substrate must be
maintained through the Cicol ET Screed.
Cleaning
All tools can be cleaned immediately after use with Fosroc
Solvent 102.
