Introduction
Whether for residential building or
industrial, for small or large building
sites, the TRIO wall formwork system
is adaptable and versatile. These
assembly instructions are provided to
ensure its problem-free use. They
show the basic TRIO system, with
formwork heights h = 270 and h = 330,
and its usage, with add-on systems
and safety features. At the end you
will find out something about the care
of the product.
The identification of the components
is made without the addition of TRIO.
Measurements without units are given
in cm.
The individual parts of the system
h = 270 are shown in Part F with their
item numbers. Please refer to your
PERI specialist if you have any
questions.

Correct use
These assembly instructions contain
information on the handling and correct
use of the TRIO formwork system.
Safety instructions and load instructions
must be adhered to exactly.
For other uses, or use beyond that
described, it is necessary to obtain
our specific agreement and additional
construction instructions from the
operator.
The operator must ensure that the
construction and use instructions
delivered by PERI are present and
available for the workers.
Fundamentally, only materials in good
condition may be used. Damaged
components must be changed.
For the use of our products, the most
recent safety and environmental
regulations applicable to the respective
countries must be adhered to.
The assembly instructions and the
PERI offer and implementation plans
do not replace the working and
assembly instructions from the
operator on the building site.

Product features
The TRIO 270 wall formwork system
is a heavy formwork for shuttering
walls, pillars, foundations and other
concrete components.
The basic equipment includes the
panels, corner and filler elements,
alignment couplers, compensation
waler, push-pull props, work platforms
and all the necessary small parts for
assembly. The steel parts are powder
coated in red.
Shuttering is carried out with 5 element
heights and 6 widths in a grid size of
30 cm. The elements can be used
upright or on their sides.
With TRIO it is possible to fulfil the
flatness requirements of DIN 18202
up to line 7 of table 3. See GSV table
part E.

For all applications, the relevant

additional parts and tables are
available.
TRIO L
(aluminium powder coated in yellow)
can be combined as required with
TRIO 270.
TRIO 330
For office buildings and industrial
construction.
TRIO Structure
For components with special
demands on the surface.
Tie system DW 15 and DW 20

Safety instructions
These assembly instructions are
directed at the people who work with
the TRIO panel formwork system. Not
adhering to the assembly instructions
and the safety instructions can lead to
accidents and damage.

3. Ensure stability during all building

states.

Duties of the operator:

1. The operator must ensure that the
instructions delivered by PERI and
other necessary instructions are
available to the users.
2. All persons who work with the
product must be familiar with the
content of these instructions and
the safety instructions contained
therein.
3. The operator must inform any
people who cannot read these
instructions, or can only read them
with difficulty, on the content of
these instructions.
4. The operator must ensure that the
assembly and dismantling of the
product as well as its proper use
is overseen and lead by suitable
professionals who are authorised
to give instructions.
5. The operator must put in place the
necessary conditions for the
adherence to all valid safety
regulations.

5. Working areas must be reachable

via safely accessible routes.

General safety instructions:

1. The TRIO components must be
found to be in a faultless state
before every use. Damaged
components must be replaced by
original PERI parts.
2. The TRIO must be assembled in
such a way that all load effects are
safely transferred.

4. Safely establish working locations

for assembly, alteration and
dismantling as well as for moving.

6. People working at heights of more

than 2.00 m must be secured
against falling.

14. Only remove the lifting accessories

from the positioned formwork parts
or units after they cannot change
their position unintentionally.
15. In strong winds, move formwork
elements with guide cables. Avoid
collision with other objects.
16. Store and transport components
so that they do not change

7. During unfavourable weather

conditions, entering dangerous
areas should be avoided.
8. Only strip the components when
the concrete has sufficiently set
and the person responsible has
authorised it.
9. Carry out stripping or moving with
suitable tools. Do not pull off
formwork elements with a crane!
10. Do not endanger the stability of
building, scaffold and formwork
parts during stripping.
11. Formwork parts may only be
transported with lifting equipment
and load-carrying equipment when
suitable lifting means are available.
12. The weight of the components
may not exceed the permissible
load of the lifting equipment.
13. Remove loose parts or secure so
that they do not fall.

D1 Care and
cleaning
What should be done?

Why?

1. Spray new formwork all over with release agent,

e.g. PERI BIO Clean before first use.

Provides fundamental protection against adhesion

and corrosion before first soiling cover completely
with release agent.

2. Spray formwork with PERI Bio Clean after striking

each time, then clean.

Helps to remove concrete remains and eases

cleaning. Use of force and scraping is unnecessary.
Formliner / paint stay intact.

3. For long storage periods, e.g. bad weather, store

formwork after cleaning and spraying.

The frame is thus protected against corrosion &

formlining against weathering.

4. Spray moving parts regularly with release agent

and/or grease as required.

Removes rust, prevents corrosion and maintains

ease of movement of parts.

5. Transport elements with suitable and secure

transport equipment and lifting gear.

Prevents damage by incorrect transport.

6. Ensure proper storage of elements and

accessories. Prevents damage of the element
frames and accessories.

Damage to the formlining caused by denting etc. is

also prevented.

7. Do not throw or drop accessories.

The parts remain functional.

8. Do not use unnecessary force during assembly

and dismantling.

The parts remain functional.

Care tips

Tips for cleaning

During cleaning, store the element securely!
It is not permitted to clean elements that are
hanging from a crane!
Remove concrete rest!
1. Spray the reverse side of the formwork with water
immediately after concreting.

Concrete not yet hardened and can be easily removed,

thus reducing cleaning effort.

2. After striking, spray the formwork all over with

PERI BIO Clean.

Mixes and removes concrete residue, makes later

mechanical cleaning easier.

3. Before mechanical cleaning, remove nails, batons,

etc. from the formlining.

Prevents unnecessary enlargement of nail holes and

damage to formlining. Also prevents damage to
cleaning tools.

4. Use a suitable tool, e.g. scraper, to clean element

mechanically.
5. Brush elements after mechanical cleaning. Remove
dust and concrete residue.
6. If necessary, spray elements again after shuttering.

52

The formlining surface is clean for next use.

D2 Repair
Small repairs can be made at the
building site, e.g. with veneer plugs
and timber pieces.
Large repairs, e.g. formlining change,
must be carried out by PERI or at a
suitable workshop.
Instructions can be found in the PERI
Cleaning and Repair Service brochure
or from PERI.
Necessary spare parts and tools can
be found in the PERI delivery
programme.
