Boom Barrier systems form a part
of site protection and efficient
access control. A combination
of a boom barrier and a sliding
gate greatly increases control of
the number of vehicles entering
and leaving the site, optimises
traffic flow management and
ensures overall security in the
gateway area. Our boom barrier has
a modular structure: the drive

column is housed in a self-sup

porting frame. The system fully
absorbs all forces, resulting from
barrier movements or wind pressure. The gear unit, crank drive
and optional control units are
housed in a stainless steel hous
ing. One of the distinguishing
features of the PPG barriers is
their simplicity of assembly which
allows the system to be easily fit

tionality check in the factory. Boom
barrier type GEHS with electrohydraulic drive. Boom barriers are
used for traffic guidance and con
trol of cars and trucks. They prevent
the unauthorised access to a site.
In combination with a fence line
the barriers offer effective site
protection.

Modular principle
All GES type barriers are manu
factured as modules. This allows
wearing parts to be easily replaced
as well as making maintenance
and service very customer-friendly.

Types
GHS type
PPG`s GHS manual boom barriers
are used for entrances which are
only rarely opened or closed. The
frame of the barrier holder and
support post are made out of sta
ble steel sections. When at rest, the
barrier is supported and secured in
place by a lockable support post.

GES type

Pendulum support

PPG`s GES electric barriers for en

trance widths up to 8 meter. Us
ing PPG`s GES barriers in combina
tion with PPG sliding gates, dur
ing nighttime control operations,
the site is secured by a sliding gate
and the boom barriers are open.
The site can however be accessed
using a card reader or remote
control. During the daytime, the
boom barriers are controlled by
card reader systems, pushbutton,
remote control, automatic timed
access control, induction loops and
photocells.

As an option, a pendulum support

can also be attached to barriers.
This device takes the weight of the
barrier when closed. The robust
drive with spring-loaded support
and dual mounting of the barrier,
using stable vertical bearings, allows
huge opening widths and low-wear
operations. The support bracket is
a stationary post.
