OLIVER

Over 180 pupils were involved in our college production of

Lionel Bart's seminal musical Oliver on Wednesday and
Thursday of this week. Pupils have been rehearsing for months
and their singing, acting and dancing talents were on full display
in the memorable songs as Consider Yourself,
Oom Pah Pah, and As Long as He Needs Me. Pupils were
involved in band, art direction, set design, stage management,
lighting and sound. The audience on both evenings joined us in
congratulating the entire cast and crew for a wonderful
performance.

YEAR 8 STEM DAY

The Technology department was bustling last week as year 8 pupils spent the day with
Scientists and Technologists from UWE Bristol for a day of Science, Technology,
Engineering and Maths.
The different ways in which the pupils chose to approach tasks were as varied and
excellent as the projects themselves, and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Congratulations to Sneha Thomas, Matthew Richardson and Ciaran Penney who
successfully cracked the DNA code breaking competition.

GREAT BRITAIN ACROBATIC GYMNASTICS TRIAL

Congratulations to year 9 pupil Kenedi Cross who last weekend was invited to trial

Gymnastics at the age of 4 and currently trains 12 hours a week. If successful at the
trial, along with her Gymnastic partner, Kenedi will represent Great Britain in the
European Championships in Germany and the World Championships in China.
Kenedi will find out if she was successful at the end of July. Kenedi is also due to
compete in July to retain her title in the Turin Cup in Italy. A bright future awaits
this young lady!

through their love of music. Congratulations to Rhiannon Davies, Catriona
Davies, Nathalie Canvin, Katie Norris, Isobel Romero and Darragh Sinclair
