For you!
There are three training levels available:
Training for Superintendents No practical experience with operating a cutter suction dredger is required. Training for starting Dredge Operators Some operational experience, for example as a deckhand, is required to follow this program. Training for Experienced Dredge Operators Already skilled to operate a dredge, while taking into account the technical limitations.
PROGRAMMES Training for Superintendents
The participants will be able to apply the theory of the
hydraulic transportation process in relation to specific soil characteristics when operating a cutter suction dredger. Topics: Basic operations: Operational: start up, shut down, break in, swing/step Cases: relation swing width/dredging depth, relation step size/dredging depth Sand dredging: Operational: general procedure sand, variations in sand type, variations face height, variations discharge length, optimization for sand Cases: calculation production spud carrier, optimization exercise Clay dredging:
Operational: general procedure clay,
variations clay type, variations discharge length, optimization for clay Cases: clay test (plasticity index) for predicting clay balls and adhesion Anchoring: Operational: anchor boom procedure Cases: long anchoring procedure, communication procedure long anchoring, time analysis anchor boom procedure
Training for novice Operators
After this training participants are able to operate the
dredge and take adequate measures in regularly occuring situations such as stones or cavitation in the pumps, obstruction in the cutter or a broken discharge line. Topics : Basic operations: Operational: start up, shut down, break in, swing/step Cases: relation swing width/dredging depth, relation step size/ dredging depth Anchoring: Operational: anchoring with anchor booms, www.dredgetraining.com
dredging with different pipe line lengths
Cases: cavitation and critical velocity, identification parameters cavitation and pipe line resistance Obstructions: Operational: stone in pump, blockage of cutter, general procedures sand and clay Cases: recognition different obstructions on indicators New project: Operational Procedures: breaking in Cases: exercise set up break in diagram
Training for experienced Operators
As these participants already have the skills required to
perform their job, the programme will be tailor-made to the themes they wish to learn more about. Various difficult operating conditions can be simulated and trained upon. Possible topics: Rock dredging: Operational: general procedure, upwards and downwards cutting Cases: anchoring in rock, selection wear parts, reading PL-graphs Booster: Operational: operational procedure manual, operational procedure telemetry Cases: slurry transport explained, reading PL-graph, positioning booster Weather states Operational: dredging with tides, currents and wind Cases: finding weather information in preparation of project
