ALTURA INSPECTION

CASE: VESTAS
Vestas, one of the leading wind turbine manufacturers, recently
started testing to perform their visual inspections with UAVs, by
Aerialtronics. Within the industry there is a desperate need for
less expensive and safer ways of inspecting wind turbines.
Current methods include rope decent, cherrypicker and service
platforms. The Altura systems provide a safe, low cost and highly
efficient solution.

CASE: AREVA
Areva has also started testing with the Altura systems for their
wind turbine visual inspections. Areva specializes in offshore
technology. At sea the technicians usually experience high wind
speeds, limiting their operation. Where the current methods are
limited to 9m/s winds the Altura system continues.

The Altura systems provide three ways of inspection. High

resolution images individually taken and stitched together
afterwards, full HD video recording and streaming or
multispectral thermal imaging.

CASE: CATSURVEYS
Another great application for UAVs is the inspection of high
voltage power lines. Catsurveys recently experienced the
benefits of the Altura systems first hand. The use of UAVs
provides Catsurveys with a low cost and easy to operate
solution, even at hard to reach locations.
To provide companies with the solution to fly near high voltage
power lines we made sure the Altura systems are tested in the
most extreme conditions.

CASE: BELGIAN POLICE

A big problem in Belgium and the Netherlands (the two countries

with the highest number of traffic jams in Europe) is that roads are
often closed for long periods of time due to accidents. For instance
one minute of traffic jam on the Antwerp ring is costing the
economy 100.000 euro. The amount of time it takes to do
measurements seriously decreases by the use of drones. Quick,
cost effective and highly detailed measurements are taken at the
accident scene without disturbing the rescue workers and other
emergency services.
Three methods are possible:
1. Providing standard software with one of 21 reference
measurements.
2. Providing standard software with one of 10 GPS control points.
3. Providing 3D software with one of 21 reference
measurements.

CASE: ROTTERDAM HARBOR, SKEYE BV.

Rotterdam harbor, the local government looking into mapping

and surveying the harbor area. Skeye BV, one of our
customers, provided them with the opportunity to do this by
aerial platform. The Altura system lets Skeye perform surveys,
3D mapping, inspections and soon multispectral imagery for
crop monitoring.
