he new flat-panel monitors and panel PCs with industry-standard wide-screen displays are equipped with
projected capacitive touch (PCT) technology especially
geared toward industry applications. This innovative touch
technology allows pressure-free operation, enabling quick
and efficient operation of machines and plants with intuitive
single-finger and multiple-finger gestures or two-hand operation. Operation is even possible when wearing protective
gloves.
An antiglare surface ensures good readability with a wide
viewing angle. The built-in units with an aluminum housing
have been designed for 24-hour continuous operation and
also meet high temperature, vibration, shock, and EMC requirements. The single-piece glass front is scratchproof and
resistant to chemicals, and a metal frame protects the edge
of the glass from mechanical damage. The new 19 and 20
Simatic IFP and panel PCs can also be used for single-touch
applications.

he new LOGO! CMR2020 communication module supports remote communication via mobile network with
the new LOGO! 8 logic module. The stand-alone module
with the same housing design as LOGO! 8 is connected to the
Industrial Ethernet interface of the LOGO! basic module, enabling remote monitoring and telecontrol of automation systems based on LOGO! via mobile networks using SMS. Furthermore, the LOGO! CMR2020 offers position recognition
via GPS signal; an SMS query service; and clock synchronization using an NTP server, GPS signal, or mobile service provider. It also transmits the time to the LOGO! control system.
The LOGO! CMR2020 monitors the process image of the
defined LOGO! basic module signals as well as the integrated
inputs and outputs. If there is an event, an automatic text
message is sent to a defined set of mobile phone numbers.
Conversely, the variables of the LOGO! basic module can also
be modified via SMS. A quick, informative diagnosis of the
LOGO! CMR2020 is shown locally with LEDs or on a web platform. Some of the typical applications of LOGO! stations
with the LOGO! CMR2020 include controlling blinds, lights,
or power in buildings; controlling irrigation systems via SMS;
container tracking; and controlling church and school clocks
with periodic time synchronization.

Cost-effective monitoring
The new 3UF7510-1AA00-0 Siemens earth-fault module for
the Simocode pro motor management system monitors earth
faults in conjunction with 3UL23 residual current transformers. This makes it possible to detect errors before the

sing the Siplus CMS2000 condition monitoring system, mechanical components such as motors,
generators, pumps, and fans can be
monitored and analyzed by collecting
data on vibrations, rotational speed, and
temperature. This makes it possible to
identify defects in machines even before
a malfunction arises, meaning that the
error can be eliminated in a timely manner and maintenance operations can
beplanned. Up to 16 standard IEPE vi
bration sensors can be connected per
CMS2000. In addition to vibrations, it is
also possible to measure temperature,
rotational speed, and analog signals
such as pressure. With the integrated diagnostic software, the user can analyze
data from the bearing and vibrations
monitor, perform a frequency-selective
analysis of the collected data, or carry
out a trend analysis.
Visualization and parameterization are
performed in a simple web browser, with
no additional software required, granting the service engineers easy on-site
