Functional speaking: Asking for information


Description
In this lesson students will learn how, when and where use asking
for information structures. Lesson will start with short subject
introduction- how do we makes asking for information questions
according to places we are in, person we direct our question to
get information we need, and their grading- from rude to very
polite ones.
Class condition
Number of student : 50-60
Time: 50 minutes
Teaching Aids: Board, Chalk, Handouts, Pictures, tape, magnet
Method: PPP (Presentation, Practice, and Production)
Anticipated Problem
Students may have some difficulties in using offers and
requests.
Students may be too passive to communicate or to take part
in class activities.
Possible Solution
Provide clarification and practice of language used for get the
question to ask the information.
Design some activities for learners to be more active and
excited to learn.
Put them in pairs or small groups to discuss.
Motivating them by giving bonus
Main Aims
To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in asking
for information in the context of real life situations, as:
shopping, dining etc.

To provide practice in listening real life conversations and
familiarise students with common asking for information
