The Management of Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA)
invites suitable qualified Tanzanians to apply for positions of
Tutorial Assistants (TAs) (<35 yrs of age) and Assistant
Lecturers (<45 years). Applicants are advised to note that the
minimum GPA of 3.8 or an average of B for unclassified
degrees such as that of Veterinary and Medical graduates at
undergraduate level applies for TAs and 3.5 at BSc/BA level
or equivalent (i.e. an average of B for Veterinary and Medical
graduates) and a good Master degree is applicable for those
with postgraduate qualifications. Only registered Veterinarians
will be considered for interviews.
Applicants are advised to note that salary packages and
fringe benefits shall be as per Treasury Registrars Circular
No. 2 of 2014, which is applicable at the moment.
The deadline for submission of application letters indicating

certified copies of certificates and transcripts, curriculum vitae

1. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING

AND LAND PLANNING

Assistant Lecturer (1 Post) in the discipline of Farm
Machinery and Mechanization for applicants in possession
of a BSc in Electro Mechanical Engineering/ Mechanical
Engineering/ Agricultural Engineering or related field and a
MSc in the areas related to Farm Machinery and
Mechanization/ Agricultural Engineering/ Mechanical
Engineering. Those working in the industry are
encouraged to apply.

Assistant Lecturer (1 Post) in the discipline of Foreign

Languages (English, French and Spanish) for applicants in
possession of a BA and a MA specializing in either of the two
languages English, French or Spanish languages.
Assistant Lecturer (1 Post) in the discipline of Food and
Beverages Management for applicants in possession of Bachelor
and Master degree in Hotel Management or related fields.
Assistant Lecturer (1 Post) in the discipline of Law for applicants
in possession of a LLB and LLM majoring in Tourism, Business or
other related disciplines.

OF VETERINARY MICROBIOLOGY AND

PARASITOLOGY
Assistant Lecturer (1 Posts) in the discipline of Veterinary
Microbiology for applicants in possession of a BVM/BVSc degree
and MSc in Veterinary Microbiology from a recognised Institution
and who has an overall of B grade or above for BVM and should
in addition have scored B grade or above in Veterinary
Microbiology at Undergraduate.
Assistant Lecturer (1 Post) in the discipline of Veterinary
Immunology for applicants in possession of a BVM degree and
MVM/MVSc/MSc in Veterinary Immunology from a recognised
Institution and who have an overall B grade or higher at Bachelor
degree and should in addition have scored B grade or above in
Immunology.

5. DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL SCIENCES

Assistant Lecture (1 post) in the discipline of Meteorology.
Holders of a MSc. in Meteorology or related degree programs with
strong specialisation in Synoptic and Dynamic Meteorology and
Meteorological data analysis and display systems from a
recognized University. In addition, s/he must have a good
Bachelors Degree in Physics and Mathematics/ Environmental
Sciences and Management.
6. DEVELOPMENT STUDIES INSTITUTE

Assistant Lecturer (1 Post) for applicants in the

discipline of Rural Development. The applicant should
possess BA Rural Development/ Bachelor in Rural
Development and MA Rural Development / Master in
Rural Development from recognized University.
