Princess Phoebe Bracelet

By Laura Cole

Materials List:

1 1.5 of 3mm rhinestone cup chain

4 grams of 3mm bugle beads
4 grams of size 8 sharp triangle seed beads
2 grams of size 11 seed beads
1 gram of size 15 seed beads
Clasp
6lb Fireline, size 10 or 11 beading needle, mat, scissors

Right Angle Weave with Cup Chain:

1. Start with a comfortable piece of
Fireline. Pick up four bugles and slide
them down until you have a 4-5 inch
tail. Go through them again and then
tie them in a circle. Go through the first
bugle.

The new bugle is on the bottom of the

bracelet holding the chain in place.
Reposition through the next two bugles
in the new unit.

4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 for desired length

of bracelet minus clasp. Trim chain.
2. Pick up three bugles and go through the
bugle your thread is exiting again. You
now have two squares, or two units of
right angle weave. Place the squares
over the first two stones of your cup
chain.

5. Weave so you are coming out a bugle

on the side of the bracelet to begin a
second row of right angle weave. You'll
be integrating the chain in the same
way that you did in row one. Make your
first unit of row 2 using 3 bugles.

3. Pick up one bugle, bring your thread

underneath the chain and pass through
the bugle your thread is exiting again.

6. Reposition and create your next unit by

adding 2 bugles. If you are not already
coming out the bugle in between the
two units just created, reposition so that
you are. Insert your cup chain in place,
bring your thread underneath and pick
up a bugle. Go through the bugle you
were exiting again.

Repeat for the length of your chain. End

coming out a bugle on the side of the
bracelet

9. Pick up an 11 and go through the next

triangle. Continue all the way around
the bracelet, but when you get to each
corner pick up three 11s instead of one.

10. You'll end up near the end of the

bracelet, so you can stitch on one side
of your clasp at this time. A three strand
clasp works well, attached to end 11s,
stitching using the amount of 11s that
will make the bracelet fit well.

Edging & Embellishment:

7. Pick up an 11 and go through the next
edge bugle. Continue all the way
around, adding the 11s on all four sides.
Step up into the first 11.

11. Weave through your work so you are

coming out a bugle at the center,
heading towards the length of your
bracelet. Pick up a 15 and go through
the next bugle, continuing towards the
other end of the bracelet. Do not pull
hard, just let them sit in the spaces
between the units.

8. Pick up a triangle and go through the

next 11. Do not pull your tension tight or
your bracelet will warp, keep it soft.
Continue all the way around the
bracelet. Step up into the first triangle.

12. Add the other side of your clasp on this

end. Weave in and trim your threads.
