Review the central truth, the memory verse, prayer and confessions,
and read the Bible Story with scripture references indicated under the
power outlets. As this is done each day, let your child color in or put a
sticker on the power outlet located on the back of the devotional. At
the end of the week please sign as proof of completion and return to the
teacher. Children who complete 3 weeks Power Cords in a month will
have their picture posted in the foyer of Power Source and their name in
the newsletter.
Father God,
Thank you for loving me and taking care of me. Bless my church, Pastor Ron,
and his family. Bless my teachers for teaching me Your Word. I believe your love
is flowing through me to other people. Help me to obey my parents so things
will go well with me and I will live a long life on the earth. I will tell how great
you are and how much I love you. I thank You that by Jesus stripes I am healed.
In Jesus' name,
Amen
God is our heavenly Father and loves us with a perfect love, but because
all we know here on earth is our earthly father we think basing our ideas
about God on our experiences with our earthly father. We become
afraid that we will not live up to the expectations of our heavenly Father
and He will reject us. This is especially true if we have felt rejected,
overlooked, or ignored by our father on earth. Even if we have a dad
that we know loves us, is there for us, and disciplines us; we must
remember that he is loving us the best way he can, but that is not
always perfect. Or just maybe we are unthankful for the good dad we
have and our ungrateful heart blocks us from feeling the perfect love
of God. Father God wants us to trust Him like a Daddy who accepts
us, protects us, and loves us fiercely. In our memory verse the word
Abba describes a child running and being lifted in the air and then held
closely, lovingly. Letting God love us like this will help us as we grow to
trust God as the Father who is mighty and wise, knowing all and seeing
all, to lavish His holy love on us. Living from this place of confidence in
the Fathers love allows us to worship Him with our whole heart every
day.
