INSTALLATION

Models
This Connector Kit is used to enable the installation of Boom!
Audio interface modules on motorcycles without a Non-Ultra
Overlay Harness (Part No. 70169-06) installed. See the P&A
retail catalog or the Parts and Accessories section of
www.harley-davidson.com (English only) for the applicable
Interface Module Kits and model fitment information.

Installation Requirements

The rider's safety depends upon the correct installation

of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures.
If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do
not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer
perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit
could result in death or serious injury. (00333a)
NOTE

1.

Install the Boom! Audio interface module kit up to the

point where six-way connectors [6A} and [6B] have been
separated.

2.

See Figure 1 and Figure 2. Get the components of this

kit, and the iPod/NIM harness from the Boom! Audio
interface module kit.

NOTE
The terminals are different at each end of the two wires in the
harness (3) from this kit, and are identified in Figure 2 as (A)
and (B).

Follow instructions in the service manual appendix to

remove the seal plugs from cavities 4 and 5 of the 6-way
socket housing [6B] on the vehicle interconnect harness.
Insert the (B) terminal of the yellow/orange wire into cavity
4 of socket housing [6B]. Insert the (B) terminal of the
yellow/violet wire into cavity 5.

Follow instructions in the service manual appendix to insert

the (A) terminal of the yellow/orange wire into cavity 13
of the 35-way connector (1). Insert the (A) terminal of the
yellow/violet wire into cavity 14.

5.

Insert the five terminated wires from the ipod/NIM harness

into the 35-way connector (1) as follows:

Insert the red/blue wire terminal into cavity 4.

Insert the tan/red wire terminal into cavity 8.

Insert the violet/gray wire terminal into cavity 19.

Insert the black/blue wire terminal into cavity 27.

Insert the tan/blue wire terminal into cavity 31.

Insert a seal plug (2) into each of the unused cavities of

the 35-way connector, which will now be known as connector [28B].

This instruction sheet refers to service manual information. A

service manual for this year/model motorcycle is required for
this installation and is available from a Harley-Davidson dealer.

See Figure 2 and Table 1.

PREPARATION
NOTE
For vehicles equipped with security siren:

2007 and later: Verify that the Hands-Free Fob is present.

2006 and earlier: Disarm the siren with the key fob.

ALL vehicles: Turn the ignition key switch to IGNITION.

PREPARATION

Verify that the Hands-Free Fob is present.

NOTE
Be sure to check that all socket terminals are fully seated and
locked into the 35-way socket housing [28B] before plugging
back into the radio.

Turn the ignition key switch to IGNITION.

7.

Mate the six-way connectors [6A] and [6B] of the iPod/NIM

harness to connectors [6B] on the vehicle interconnect
harness and [6A] on the vehicle audio harness.

8.

Continue with the Boom! Audio interface module kit

installation per the instructions in that kit.

NOTE
For vehicles equipped with security siren:

To prevent accidental vehicle start-up, which could cause

death or serious injury, remove main fuse before proceeding. (00251b)
