GENERAL
The overall purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to the staff and
students in the Popular Music programme(s) department as well as for aspects of the
Classical Music programmes(s). The post holder will report to the Assistant Head of
Registry (Programmes & Assessments) and will work closely with the Head of Popular
Music and the staff team to support all aspects of their delivery of the Popular Music
programmes and to co-ordinate all aspects of the principal study provision.
SUMMARY OF MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To provide administrative support, including but not limited to the following:
Registry:

Administration of BMus Popular Music programme: monitoring student registration


and attendance, scheduling and processing assessments, producing class lists
and administering Final Showcase Performances, Professional Engagements,
Music Live Event Assessments and RNCM Records (RNCM digital record label).
Administration of BMus/GRNCM classical music programme.
To maintain data on the Popular Music programmes in the student records
system and information on the VLE in an accurate and timely manner.
To assist with the administration of Boards of Examiners, and the issue of
certificates and transcripts to Popular Music students.
Attendance at and minuting of Popular Music programme meetings.
To provide support to the Head of Registry for the organisation of the Colleges
Congregation of awards.

Popular Music:

Maintenance of the Head of Popular Musics diary and acting as a contact point for
staff, students, professional partners, and visitors.
Tutor support: Communication with staff, production of diaries for department staff,
recording details of contracted hours, claim form submissions, organising travel &
accommodation for tutors/visitors.

Administration of specialist instrumental/vocal classes, visiting tutors,


masterclasses and international chair visits, internal auditions, rehearsals and
student performance opportunities.

This list is not exhaustive and duties may vary depending on the departments current
requirements.
2. Any other reasonable duties as may be required taking into account the post holders
qualifications, knowledge and experience.
3. To ensure that reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety and welfare
of yourself and other persons and to comply with the policies and procedures relating
to health and safety within the College.
