1.1.

Cell ID position method Optimization

Description
Benefit

When CELL ID position method is selected, RNC will report

corresponding descriptive type of the cell according to OMCR.
When CELL ID position method is selected and the cell is
described with Arc or polygon type or other type, RNC will
report the cell type information to CN.

Impacted Procedure Location service.

When CELL ID position method is selected and the cell is
Impact if not upgrade described with Arc or polygon type, RNC will report only the
cell center and cell radius with altitude type information to CN.
Impact on other
systems
Verification
Relative Parameter

1.1.2

none
1 The cell is configured as polygon or arc or other type, and
the corresponding cell descriptive type parameters are
configured.
2 In position procedure, Cell ID position method is selected.
None

Maximum Bit Rate of Signaling at Cell Level

Description
Benefit

Add a parameter CResPara4 to limit the maximum bit rate for

signaling in cell.
The ratio of successful RRC connection can be improved
when Iub transmission resource is limited.

Impacted Procedure DRBC

Impact if not upgrade
Impact on other
systems
Verification
Relative Parameter

The ratio of successful RRC connection can not be improved

when Iub transmission resource is limited.
None
1) Set the parameter CResPara4 to 3: 3.4 kbps
2) RRC connection will be set up using 3.4 kbps SRB.
Reserved parameter:
CResPara4 (Cell Reserved Parameter 4)

1.1.3

Allocate the Common Channel Code Automatically

Description

Benefit

In previous RNC version, the Common Channel Code is

allocated by operators through OMCR. Operators need to
consider the occupancy of code tree by other physical
channels. Configuration is complicated. In this version, the
common channel code of S-CPICH\S-CCPCH\PICH\AICH
\MICH can be allocated automatically. Operators no longer
need to configure the common channel code through OMCR.
Common Channel Code is allocated automatically.
Configuration work is simple.

Impacted Procedure Code Resource Allocation

Relative Parameter

1.1.4

Common Channel Code is allocated by operators through

OMCR.
None
Operators neednt to configure the channel codes of SCPICH\ S-CCPCH\PICH \AICH \MICH. The Cell can be set up
successfully.
Deleted parameter:
1) DlChCodeNo (S-CCPCH Channelisation Code No.)
2) ChCode (PICH Channelisation Code No.)
3) ChCode (AICH Channelisation Code No.)
4) ChCode(S-CPICH Channelisation Code No.)
5) MichChCode (MICH Channelisation Code No.)

Controllable Factors of HSPA throughput Evaluation for Load Balance

Description

Benefit

The parameter CResPara6 to control whether or not to

consider code resource, power, bandwidth in the calculation of
HSPA throughput. This parameter consists of three bits. Bit0,
Bit1 and Bit2 standing for code resource, power and
bandwidth separately. If the bit value of the related factor is 0,
the factor will not be concerned.
Meet the requirement of specific scene which cares only one
or two of the three factors mentioned above.

Impacted Procedure Load Balance

Impact if not upgrade The requirement of specific scene can not be met.
Impact on other
systems
Verification
Relative Parameter

None
When Bit0=1, Bit1=0, Bit2=0, code resource is considered in
the calculation of HSPA throughput only.
