Literature Review
Islam has a complete guide for all areas of life. Islam has its own values and ethics like all
other religions. The all education regarding ethics and values are base on books i.e. Quran
and Hadith. Among the all religions Islam has its own values and ethics regarding workplace.
All Muslims have belief that the Allah Almighty not creates anything un- systematically. The
whole word Allah Almighty creates in 07 days.
Our holy Prophet (PBUH) gives us a clear cut picture of Islamic life and its ethics and values.
The;2 PBUH also gives the clear cut line of action regarding business and their ethics. Equal
rights of humans at the work station and equality principal are the main component of
Islamic work ethics (Yousaf, 2002). The result of study shows that organizational learning the
IWE has strong relation with organizational prosperity.
The Islamic work ethics have strong impact on job satisfaction. They are interring linked with
each other at very strong level. Our Islamic rituals show that the Islamic work ethics play a
vital role in the success of any body or organizations success. The pervious study shows that
base of the all Islamic work ethics provided by Islamic culture and norms. All the Islamic
work ethics is by nature is very common and suggestive.
In their own study (Soleimani & Niazara), the result of multiple regression shows that the
direction of Islamic work ethics has strong impact on Job satisfaction and job involvements.
Our Islamic ethics are based on 04 main point endeavors, rationality, dislike, and ethical
liable behavior. Islamic work ethics shows that the Islamic ethics and enhance the learning,
performance and other factor of success.
Since last 07 decade value system and Islamic work ethics connected with work has gain
attention of scholars. Although the facts and figures show that all other religions and ethics
group get prosperity and remarkable economic prosperity during last decades. Our
organizations neither understood properly the Islamic work ethics nor commonly studied in

organization studies. This research focuses first and foremost on the Hadith intentionally
separating the behavior of the idea of work ethics in Hadith from the universal Book i.e.
Quran. In this study the researcher examine the following characteristic i.e. attitudes to
wealth, attitude to time, attitude to leisure, and attitude to livelihood (Ahmed & Owoyemi,
2012).
In international Islamic University Malaysia conduct a study in which researcher investigate
how Islamic work ethics are linked with individuals. Cluster sampling used as tool. The result
of study shows that Islamic work ethics is linked with individuals and all IWE has strong
impact on job satisfaction and job involvement (Mohamed, Shahriza, Karim, & Hussein).
Empirical testing shows that Islamic work ethics has strong positive relation/effect on
organizational commitment and job satisfaction. But on the other hand study shows that no
significance evidence on impact of Islamic work ethics on turnover (Rokhman & Omer, The
effect of Islamic work ethics on Job Satisfaction, Organizational Commitment and Turnover
Intention: A study on Islamic Microfinance Institutions in Central Java, Indonesia, 2008). In
2008 a cross cultural study conduct in which the main purpose is finding out the coherent but
critical impact of Islamic work ethics.
In which researcher explores the impact and nature of Islamic work ethics in political and
cross cultural context. Researcher also explores and investigates the economic and cultural
conditions in which Islamic work ethics prevails. The findings of study tell us there 03 main
dimensions economic, moral and social.
The statistical tool regression analysis shows that all dimensions have significant impact on
job satisfaction and job stress (Ali & Owaihan, 2008) .A recent study i.e. Islamic work ethic:
how they affect organizational learning, innovation and performance. In this study paper
researcher selected service industry of Pakistan. After analysis the result strongly support that

the employees performance, job satisfaction, and organizational performance are directly
affected by Islamic work ethics.
The study also recommended that in Pakistan if organizations implement the Islamic work
ethics the outcomes of organizations will increase. (Abbasi, Mir, & Hussain). In 2010 an
investigating study conducted in Indonesia in which researcher used IWE as independent
variable and job satisfaction, organizational commitment and turnover as independent
variable. The result of study shows the positive impact on 1 st two dependent variables. But
study shows there is no relation between IWE and turnover. (Rokhman, 2010).
In 2012 a study was conducted in agriculture sector of Pakistan. The study shows that Islam
has core ethics for working environment that suggest if IWE follows a comprehensive, fair,
stable and historic societies build. The result shows that a IWE and dependent variable have
positive relation. (Marri, Sadozai, Fakhar, & Ramay, 2012).
After taking a critical review on past Literature Review and studies we subtract the following
dimensions of Islamic work ethics which is Independent variable.

General public pull towards governments organizations , boosting the trust of public
on government departments
Create and enhance the trust of employer and employees by using the Islamic work
ethics as motivator
Increase the trust of employee on organization and reduce the employees turn over
Use the IWE as instrument for reducing the ethical dilemma

Types of research
Qualitative techniques will be used for study of variable in various departments of public and
private sector for exploring the impact of Islamic work ethics on employees
Method of data collection
Questionnaire developed by (Ali,1992) , will be adapt after some modification for collection
of data. Primary data collected by using closed ended questionnaire.
Study Area
The study will b conducted in various private and public sector of in city Lahore, Pakistan
Type of Analysis
Simple regressions will be used as statistical tool by using SPSS and EVIEWS as software.
