this course, I/WE certify the I/We am/are aware of the possibility of injury in connection with the activities connected therewith.
I/WE understand and agree that neither the officers, operators, agents or instructors, including but not limited to The Dance Academy of State College, Inc.,
may be liable in any way for any occurrence in connection with the dance studio which may result in injury of other damages to the minor, me/us of
the minors family, heirs or assigns.
In consideration of the minor being allowed to enroll in this course, I/WE hereby personally assume all risks in connection with the course, and I/WE
further release the instructors, program, agents and operators, including but not limited to the persons mentioned, of any injury all risks connected
therewith, whether foreseen or unforeseen and further, to save and hold harmless the program and person from any claim by or on behalf or the
minor or the minors family, estate, heirs or assigns, arising out of the minors enrollment and participation in this course.

CLASS DESCRIPTION:
Ballet/Pointe: Characterized by grace, precision, alignment of movement and formal technique. Pointe is ballet technique done on
the toes. Any color leotard, tights, skirt, and pink ballet slippers should be worn. Pointe students should contact their teacher before
purchasing shoes. All pointe students are required to take an additional class in lyrical, ballet, or technique.
Jazz: One of the most popular dance styles, which consist of, various techniques ranging from Broadway dance to music videos. Hiphop styles may be incorporated upon the instructors discretion. Leotard or tank top with jazz pants or tights may be worn. Jazz shoes
should be worn. Advanced students are required to take an additional class in ballet, jazz, lyrical, pointe, or technique.
Tap: Dance that focuses on different rhythms and creating sounds with feet. Any comfortable clothing and black tap shoes may be
worn. No jeans or long pants that cover the feet! Please check with instructor prior to purchasing shoes. Hard soled shoes or old tap
shoes can be worn to the first class. No high heeled shoes except for adults or advanced students.
Lyrical/Contemporary: A mixture of Jazz, Ballet and Modern techniques that focuses more on expression and emotion in relation
to music. Any color leotard and footless tights with lyrical shoes may be worn. Advanced students are required to take an additional
class in ballet, jazz, lyrical, or pointe.
Hip Hop/Break Dancing: High-energy dance style focusing on rhythm and isolations as seen on MTV and in the hip hop culture.
Wear any comfortable attire that you can move in. Sneakers or hip hop shoes are preferred for advanced dancers. Please have kneepads.
Preschool/KinderDance/Mommy and Me: A combination class of jazz, tap, ballet, tumbling, singing, creative movements, and
use of musical instruments for ages 2-6. Any color leotard with tights, pink ballet shoes, and black tap shoes are required. Dance skirts
are optional. Students and teachers will select only one dance style for their recital dance. Mothers may wear comfortable clothes.
Pazzet: A comprehensive class of tap, jazz, and ballet for ages 5 to 12. Any color of leotard with tights or jazz pants with pink ballet
and black tap shoes may be worn for class.
Flat Technique: This class is designed for those students who are experienced in ballet. This class will be done on flat shoes. Ballet
attire should be worn.
Technique: A combination of ballet, jazz, and lyrical techniques. This class will not perform in the recital or competitions since students
will be intensively working on technique through out the year. A technique class is required for all students on competition teams.
African: Explore dances of difference countries and cultures of Africa.
