239 years ago, our nation was founded on the principle of

religious freedom and equality for all. Our forefathers lead the
nation in times of prayer and gave the Scripture, the Holy Bible,
prominence in all matters both legal and spiritual. I am afraid that
in our zeal to keep these principles, we have become like the
Sadducees, who so burdened the people with the interpretation of
the law that they could not keep the intent of the Law.
What the world needed then, it needs now. The world
needed a Savior! Jesus came into the world not to change the law
but to fulfill it. He came to show that in the eyes of God, all men
are created equal and that any man who turns from God can have
the opportunity through HIM to return to God. Jesus reminded us
that our salvation is not determined by legislature, works or wealth,
but by simple belief in Him.
In these perilous times we need to return to our heritage, to
our faith in God and His prominence in our life and our nation. We
can do that in prayer, in power of the vote, and in testimony to the
truth. Now is not the time for Christians to lament our sorrows but
to stand for our Savior. Congregations and individuals need to stand
up and speak up for Christ. We need to be such a people.
Take your stand for Christ this week in worship and prayer.
I look forward to seeing you then.
Paul

PATRIOTIC MUSICAL AT FBC

Im writing this article several hours before
our Chancel Choir and Saints Alive Choir are
joining forces with the choir from Morningside
Baptist Church to share the patriotic musical
AMERICA, of Thee I Sing!. I am excited
with anticipation for what will be a wonderful
service, one which blessed our church and
community.
Special thanks to each of you who invited
friends and relatives last Wednesday. Thanks
also to Dewey Robinson and our faithful ushers who stepped up to greet our friends at this
special celebration time. Of course, thanks go
out to our AV Team, Jerry Pollock and Jerry
Henry, for the hours invested in making the
music and the Gospel clearly understood by
everyone in attendance. Benita Harrell is to be
praised for the beautiful job she did on her
solo.
And, thanks to each of the Saints Alive and
Chancel Choir members who participated and
sang their hearts out for the Lord. I love you
all.

Marianna Caverns Trip Monday, July 20 9 am -2 pm

Last week was a memorable week for our students.

We spent the week at camp and many students
walked away having their life changed by God.
Please pray for our students during the last weeks
of their summer break and gear up for the mission
field that is coming as school starts.
During the month of July we will meet in different
homes on Wednesday nights. Each week we will
begin at 6:30 and will end at 8:30. Below you will
find a schedule for the month and whose home we
will be meeting at for each Wednesday night. Thank
you to all the families that are opening their home.

Cost is $5 per person, plus lunch money. Please call the office to let
us know if you will be attending. We must meet a minimum quota to
have a tour. Extra adults are volunteering for this trip, so if you are a
parent that is unable to attend, please let me know and we can make
arrangements for your child to attend!

Be looking out for details throughout the month of

July. We are going to cram a lot of events and
activities into this month!!

Stacey
