The topic I am going to present today is Mix Marriages in Azerbaijan. Before discussing its
detail let me tell you some general information about Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan authoritatively the Republic of Azerbaijan, is an adjoining transcontinental
presidential republic in the Caucasus area, arranged at the junction of Eastern Europe and
Western Asia. It is limited by the Caspian Sea to the east, Russia to the north, Azerbaijan to the
northwest, Armenia to the west and Iran to the south. Its official dialect is Azerbaijani and its
capital city is Baku.
Azerbaijan got independence from Soviet Union on 18 october 1991 and it adopted constitution
on 12 November 1995. As estimated in 2014, the aggregate populace of Azerbaijan was
9,686,210. In general Median age is approx. 30.1 years which comprises of 28.5 years of male
and 31.9 years for female (2014 est.). 53.6 percent of total population is urban population and
rest is rural. Infant mortilaty rate is 26.67 deaths per 1000 live births per annum. Life expectancy
is 71.91 years. Literacy rate in Azerbaijan is 99.8 % according to 2010 census. Azerbaijan's 2.4
% of total GDP is being spent on education.

Mix marriage is considered as a taboo or may make a family or a group lose their status. These
things happen especially in the Asian countries, where the family upholds and follows the family
values and the sense of belonging to their own language, culture and society value are high.
Nowadays mixed marriage has become a norm of modern people especially those who are living
in the cities. As the globalization has taken effect due to the technological advancement in
communication, peoples tend to meet more from one part of the world to another part of the
world. Mix marriage is favorable to the modern people as there are many benefits. The mix
marriage helps the people to get new breed of society where they are living in a diversified
culture and tend to adapt to both the cultures the parents believe. This also helps the new society
to adopt and adapt new set of cultures which helps them advance more and thinks liberally.
Interracial marriage is on the ascent in Azerbaijan, as indicated by detail of the common registry.

more than one language as both parents are prone to use their mother-tongue to the child. This
makes the child to create two sets of vocabularies for two different languages at one time. Lack
of understanding may hinder the progress of relationship and creates more problems and crisis in
the marriage for this mixed marriage couple and even to the non-mixed marriage couples. There
are benefits in mix marriages, but people must think deeply as the action taken May only favors
the husband and the wife, as there are many people and society is not hundred per cent ready for
this phenomenon.
