Scene 1: Grendel's attack

Narrator:
(Mead hall, have people drinking or something)
King Hrothgar, from the line of King Scyld, was the king of the Danes. They had enjoyed a
long period of peace and successful battles. The king's wealth allowed him to build a giant
mead hall, 40 feet by 80 feet where his soldiers can enjoy mead and party out. At the end
of their festivities, they would all crash here for the night, sleeping.
(Mead hall, night)
Grendel soon comes in, crashing the soldier's party.
Grendel: I can't stand your sounds of happiness, you'll now experience death!
Soldiers: We don't think so!
(Battle scene)
*Grendel casts a spell*
Soldiers: What! Our weapons are useless!
Grendel: You mere mortals shall die now!
*Grendel goes towards the men, but before anything else happens, the scene changes
briefly to a "Please stand by" scene. Lots of screaming in the back*
(Ruined town scene)
Narrator: For twelve years the beast came back and killed
more of the people in the kingdom. Many had fled
from the mead hall back other parts in hopes to
not get killed.
The word of the beast soon spread across the land
and into the neighboring country of the Geats. A
hero heard the story and soon set off to help King
Hrothgar.
This is the story of Beowulf, the hero.
Beowulf soon reaches the country of the Danes,
where he immediately goes to the capital where
Hrothgar hails.

Scene 2: The coming of Beowulf

Wulfgar: Why are you fierce-looking warriors coming here armed and ready for war? I am
Wulfgar, Hrothgar's herald, and I've never seen such people as you.
Beowulf:I am Beowulf. WE are warriors of Hygelac, and have something to say to your
honorable leader, King Hrothgar.
WUlfgar: I'll take you to Hrothgar then.
WUlfgar: Lord Hrothgar, Hygelac's thane and fourteen of his warriors have come to our
lands. They say they have something they want to speak to you about.
Beowulf: Hail king Hrothgar! I am Beowulf, Hygelac's thane. I have done many brave
deeds in battle for my lord, and I have heard of Grendel attacking your people, and I am
here to stop him. Once before in battle I killed five giants, and I will kill this Grendel too, if
you will allow me to. I have heard that he doesn't use any weapons when he fights, so I will
fight him with my bare hands
Hrothgar:When I was young I knew Hygelac. I hope that God has sent you and your
warriors to us to save us from Grendel's attacks. If you can save us I will give you rich
rewards. Go, let us gather at the mead hall.
WUlfgar(to Beowulf): My lord says he knows your people, and that you are welcome. Come
to the mead hall and join us, but leave your weapons outside.

Scene 3: Beowulf vs. Grendel

Narrator: As the men of Beowulf were fast asleep inside the mead-hall, Grendel comes.
Beowulf watches the monster come into the mead-hall from the shadows. Grendel attacks
one of Beowulf's men. Beowulf learns about his enemy Grendle, then he attacks.
Beowulf: You will pay for what you have done to King Hrothgar's people!
Grendel: "You stand no chance pitiful mortal!"
Beowulf: "You shall not live to see the next sunlight!"
Grendel: "AGHGHGHGHGHGHGHH!!!"
Narrator: Grendel fled to the wilderness from the pain he suffers. Beowulf holds Grendel's
claw in triumph.
Beowulf: Yes!
