VALDAI ENERGY CLUB is a green energy start-up that process natural resources into higher value
products. We transform wood fibre into wood chips and wood pellets
Our corporate strategy focuses on raw material sourcing and processing in Russia and Belorussia. Our higher
value products are delivered through our head office, sales & trading desks in European Union and UK
This entrepreneurial initiative responses to the strong and sustainable market demand for pellets in Europe,
that are mainly used as an alternative energy resource
Another important factor of starting-up the project is the natural forest resources potential of Russian
Federation and Belorussia that represent up to 85 bn cubic meters of stock
The team consists of partners, who bring together the experience in several disciplines, but particularly in
wood processing, construction & engineering, investment banking & financing as well as business
administration of Russian state assets
Partners of VALDAI ENERGY aim to create a sustainable business partnership and to build a strong
relationship for perpetual growth project of wood pellets production network in Russia and Belorussia and
their distribution worldwide
Current product portfolio of Valdai Energy Club consists of 6 reliable pellets suppliers, who are based in
Russia and Belorussia and are able to deliver EN plus quality pellets of class A1, A2 and B
We visited every production facility of our club partners who have their own resource base. The resource
base is under sustainable forest management. Two of them posses the modern state-of-art production
facilities where pellets are made with Western knowledge in Russia and Belorussia
Two of our partners are already certified according to EN plus-A1 and DIN plus
Remaining partners produce the quality of EN plus-A1 and DIN plus and possess analytical chemist reports
Our Club partners are able to deliver pellets in bulk, big-bags as well as 15 kg packages
There are different logistics options available in trucks, railway or by shipping

CV highlights
Peter is Founder and Managing Partner of GoodVentures (www.goodventures.club) an Investment & Advisory
Firm. He is also Business Development Partner at Valdai Energy (www.valdaienergy.club), a green energy
company.
He brings 14 years of experience in the fields of investments and consulting. In his previous role he was
Head of M&A department at Ellington Capital in Moscow, a Private Equity and M&A advisory house, where he
was responsible for origination and execution of Private Equity transactions. Before Peter joined Ellington
Capital, he spent 7 years in Investment Banking as M&A-advisor in Germany and Russia with Deutsche
Bank. During his work with Deutsche Bank, his focus was on Private Equity Leveraged Buyout advisory of
Deutscher Mittelstand, where Peter contributed to the closing of deals in the aggregate value of more the
USD1,0bn. His previous work experience includes working for Union Investment, a German Asset Manager
with AUM of EUR180.8bn, BNP Paribas and KPMG.
In 2003, Peter received Diploma in Economics from J.-W. Goethe University in Frankfurt. In 2007, he
completed an Executive MBA program at Columbia Business School in New York City. In 2012, he graduated
with MBA from MIRBIS Business school of Moscow.
