Technical report for thermal instalations

1.The objectives
The project refers to thermal instalations part: heating with iron radiators for
a house situated on Cluj-Napoca, Constantin Brancusi street. This is based on an
architecture plan with ground floor and first floor.
2.Calculus
All the calculus are made in conformity with SR 1901-1.
It has been determined the construction elements: walls, windows, doors;
which are exposed with the exterior. For each of the construction elements it has
been determined some characteristics: Orientation(NV,NE,SE,SV), Area(A),
Thermal resistance(Ro), Thermal massiveness(m), Correction heat energy
coefficient(Cm) and Temperature difference( T)
The thermal resistances are:
-exterior walls 2,44m2 k/W
-windows 0,43m2 k/W
-exterior doors 0,43m2 k/W
The correction corection heat energy coefficient is 1 for all elements.
Temperatures:
Interior:
-18C for kitchen, hallways, stairs hall
-20C for bedrooms
-22C for bathrooms
Exterior: -18C
In the secon phase, it was considered the entire rooms. For each room it had
been determined the total area At(walls+floor+ceiling).Taking into consideration the
orientation of each room, the orientation adjustment coefficient A0 was considered.
Then the total heat losses through heat transfer for each room QT had been calculated

by summing Qt. Also a temperature difference was derermined by considering the

entire interior temoerature and the outdoor temperature.Havind these characteristics
, it has been calculated the thermalresistance for the room: Rm=Cm T At/QT. From
a diagram it has been determinated an addition Ac which it is added to A0.
In the next step it has been calculated the heating energy need from cold air
infiltration Qi(W). This is determined by choosing the greather value from heating
energy need from air infiltreation Qi1(W) and the air infiltration through leaks of
doors and windows Qi2(W).
Knowing all of these, the heating energy need (W) for each room had been
determined:
Q=QT(1+Ac+A0)/100+Qi
Firstly it has been chosen for each room the radiator type: 777/4 for
bathrooms and 624/4 for other rooms. The main reason for choosing these types are
their absolute heights H( 846.5mm for 777/4 and 693.5 for 624/6)- they have to be
positioned somewhere between windows and floor (dist. 10..15 cm). Other
important characteristics are the unitary flow qn(W/elem) for hot water.
After choosing the radiators types, it is determined:
-a correction coefficient ct based on the interior temperature and the
thermal agent temperature(forward/back=90C/70C): 1.045 for kitchen, hallway,
1.956 for bathrooms and 1 for other rooms
-another correction coefficient cc and cr which is 1 for this type of
installation
-a correction coefficient taking into account the fitting method of
radiator: cm=0.91 for bathrooms and cm=1 for other rooms.
The number of elements is determined: N=Q/(qn*a*ct*cc*ch*cv).N has to
be an integer number so it has to be rounded up an we get the numberof elements
needed for each room N.
For choosing the boiler we sum the walues of al the energy needed in the
building
12 332 W. I chosed MOTAN Optimus boiler.
