National Night Out

On Tuesday, August 4, 2015, neighborhoods throughout Sacramento are being invited to join
forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the 32nd Annual National Night Out
crime/drug prevention event. From 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., residents throughout the
nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights, and spend the evening outside
with neighbors and police.
National Night Out is designed to:

Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;

Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs;
Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and
fighting back.

Many neighborhoods throughout Sacramento will be hosting a variety of special events.

The Participation Form is ONLY needed if you are requesting SPD or other City
dignitaries for your event. This form is not needed for or intended to be part of NNO
registration.

So join us again in giving a farewell party to crime and drugs!

STREET CLOSURES

If you would like to block off your street for this event, the fee will be waived BUT a block party
application is required. The application can be downloaded from the following City of
Sacramento website and should be sent to the address listed on the application:

32nd Annual
National Night Out
2015

Neighborhoods throughout the City of Sacramento are invited to participate with thousands of
communities nationwide in the Annual National Night Out. This day promotes involvement in
crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships and neighborhood friendship; as well
as sends a message to criminals that Sacramentos neighborhoods are organized and fighting
back.
The Neighborhood Services Division (NSD) wants to help make your National Night Out
Event a GREAT SUCCESS! We have information boxes available for you to pick up. These
boxes include a wide variety of informational pieces and literature.
Because of the high demand for materials, each Neighborhood Association and/or Neighborhood
Watch is limited to a certain number of materials, so we ask that you contact NSD to reserve your
materials.
In order to try to accommodate as many as possible and to reserve your materials for National
Night Out, please call Carmen Herrera at 916-808-8374 and provide the following information:

Number of materials you are requesting (we will advise you if we can meet your needs)
