managers

Strategic Marine is a global shipbuilder

headquartered in Western Australia, with yards in
Singapore, Mexico, and Vietnam. We specialise in
the design and construction of high speed aluminium
patrol boats, crew boats, ferries, large steel vessels
& complex marine structures. We are an extremely
successful and growing business with a focus
on developing our people and we are looking for
ambitious individuals wanting to grow with us.
We are currently seeking Project Managers for
positions in Vung Tau, Vietnam, to oversee the
construction of several large projects. The Project
Manager will be responsible for project initiation
through to delivery to ensure on time and within
budget delivery, in accordance with classification
society rules, and to the specifications laid down by
the customer.
These positions would suit individuals who have the
desire to work overseas with a dynamic Australian
company, to enhance their careers and to contribute
directly to the growth and success of the business.
A keen interest in training local workers is also
fundamental to these positions.
The Project Manager will be responsible for:

Providing overall leadership for the project

while maintaining a focus on achieving

results efficiently and safely
Client liaison including the development

and presentation of project plans, progress
reports and acceptance by the client of the
final product
Supervise dealings with classification

societies
The coordination and utilisation of project
resources

Liaison with the shipyard management staff

to ensure their performance is consistent
with the aims of the project
Financial, technical and schedule reporting
Risk management and problem solving
Oversight of subcontractors and suppliers
The development of project plans, including
testing, logistics and in service support
The production of other project deliverables
such as training and documentation
Coaching and development of employees
both local and expat

Essential requirements for this position are:

Experience in project management

Excellent organisational and planning skills
Strong Leadership qualities
Previous experience working in Asia would
be highly beneficial

Formal project management or engineering

qualifications would be desirable but not essential,
as would be experience in marine, offshore or oil &
gas industry.
