1.

Sustainable Designer and Build Manager (Iloilo or Capiz-based)

Manage the design and build of classrooms and spaces that inspire beauty and pride, foster
learning, and that create potential; source from and sustain the local community and
environment; support lead architect and builder; account for every cent.

a. Help identify, select and hire the project DREAM TEAMarchitect, engineer, builder
b. With local coordinator, meet the partner community, tease out the need and the issues, take
exact measurements, help draw out their dream classrooms and spaces

c. Source natural and sustainable materials, as well as skilled artisans, carpenters, and masons
in the local community, other partner communities, the Aetas and nearby villages

d. Help design the space to be respectful to the environment, to use the least amount of capital
and operating energy and cash, to support the goals of the school and the community

e. Be the BIG DAWG, find local suppliers, negotiate bulk rates and purchase large orders
f.

Oversee progress of classroom builds, provide brief daily and weekly updates, liase with lead
architect and builder, and the community

g. Identify issues, design solutions on the ground ahead of time with the architect, builder, and
community
h. ACCOUNTARK accounts for every stakeholders gift and contribution and for every cash
outflow and purchase.

Report to ARK Project Chief (New York) and Local Coordinator

For this post, one must have at least 2 years work experience; love to research, draw, measure,
tinker, experiment, and implement; be proficient in Excel; like showcasing other peoples
undiscovered talents; and be ok to ride like Wind in His Hair* in the dirt roads of Capiz. A
background in design, architecture, math, or engineering would be super helpful.
The Sustainable Designer and Build Manager will require a 12 to 18 month commitment with
plenty of potential to grow beyond the project; this is an awesome chance to work hand-in-hand
with an international team and be launched into the field of sustainable design

2. Entrepreneurship/Venture Officer (Manila, Iloilo or Capiz-based)

Inspire and support budding entrepreneurs and subsistence farmers to dream, venture, take a
risk, and start a business that will create income for themselves and their communities, and
broaden the opportunities to lift themselves out of poverty and into abundance and happiness.
a. Meet with communities, tease out budding entrepreneurs and their dreams and talent
b. With local coordinator, and ARKs Venture Advisory Team, help identify and select ideas that
have legs, serve a real need/demand, can be done locally, and can be scaled
c. Analyze the economics of the venture, and create a pilot implementation plan
d. Implement or bring to pilot commercial stage business ideas that have been vetted
e. Create a network of strategic partners that will bring relevant skills/experience, market
knowledge, sales and distribution points to foster ideas into a pilot run
f.

Help raise seed capital for the ventures pilot run

g. With ARKs Venture Chief, identify and bring strategic capital partners and talent at the global
level
h. Analyze effect, track cash flows and impact to help scale the program

For this post, one must have at least 2 years relevant experience; love to identify the holes/the
need/the issue and to leverage peoples core competencies; breathe collaboration with people
smarter and better than us; be proficient in Excel; be ok to fail and pick up the pieces to try again;
hustle; and have a passion for social profit.
The Entrepreneurship/Venture Officer will work with and be supported by team members in
New York and London; the role will have plenty of potential to grow and evolve; this is the perfect
platform for passionate innovators
