historyandfatiguecyclesonthemajorengineparts.
Interestingly,shouldyoupurchaseafactoryrebuiltzerotimeengine,the
enginemayhavehightimemajorenginepartsincludingthecrankcase,
crankshaft,gears,connectingrodsandhousings.Thesepartsmayhavemore
enginehoursandfatiguecyclesonthemthanareonyourownengine.

InitiatinganEngineOverhaul
Toinitiateanengineoverhaulallittakesisaphonecall.OurserviceadvisorwillreviewthePowerbyVictorengineoverhaulprocesses
withyouandmakerecommendationsonwhatseriesofoverhaulandoptionswouldbestsuityouraircraftapplicationneeds.

Step2

ThePurchaseOrder
Afteracustomerhasdecidedonwhatengineoverhaulseriesandoptionsdesires,aworkordercontractisprepareddetailingtheworkto
beperformed,termsandconditionsandforwardtoyouforyourapproval.AnenginehistoryformisalsoincludedtoaidVictors

EngineRemovalandShipping
Uponreceiptofthecustomerssignedworkorderbymailorfax,aspeciallydesignedengineshippingcontainerispreparedforyour

engine.Thesespeciallydesignedshippingcontainerscanbetransportedbydomestictrucklinesorinternationalairfreight.Theengine
containeristhenshippedtothecustomersenginechangefacilitycompletewithreturnshippingbillofladinginstructionsincluded.

Step4

EngineArrival
WhentheengineisreceivedatVictorAviationtheengine,accessoriesandfittingsarephotographedwithengineandaccessoryserial
numbersrecorded.Photographyoftheincomingengineallowsthefinalengineassemblertoreinstallanyremovedenginefittingsor
bracketstotheiroriginalclockedpositionsenablingtheengineinstallereaseofenginereinstallation.

Step5

EngineTeardownandCleaning
Duringtheengineteardownproceduretheengineinspectionprocessactuallybegins.Wearpatternsignaturesonthewornengine
bearingsareexaminedtodeterminehowtherotatingandreciprocatingenginepartsarealigned.ThisinformationaidsVictors
technicianstounderstandanypasthistoryofmisalignedparts.Enginepartsarethenseparatedbytheirmaterialcompositionandgo
throughhightemperaturesteam,immersionandultrasoniccleaning.Toavoidanypartscontaminationcriticalenginepartswillbe
pneumaticallycleanedusingspecialplasticbeadblastingmedia.

Step6

EngineInspection
EnginesareinspectedinaccordancewiththeoriginalmanufacturesrecommendationbyVictorAviationsNationalAerospaceStandards
(NAS410)certificatedinspectors.Inspectionprocessesinclude:

CylinderInductionAirFlowTesting

PartsCorrosionExamination

CrankcaseCylinderDeckHeightInspection

MagnafluxInspectionBothCircularandLongitudinalAxes

ConnectingRodAlignmentInspection

FullDimensionalPartsInspection

RotationalMassPartsBalanceTesting

ResearchAirworthinessDirectivesandServiceBulletins

ReciprocatingMassPartsBalanceTesting

Followingtheengineinspectionphasethecustomerwillbecontactedbyphonetoreviewtheinspectionresultsoftheirengine.

EngineMachining
PowerbyVictortechniciansbeginthedetailedmachiningprocessesrequiredtobringtheenginepartsuptoVictorsclosetolerance
specificationsdependingonthecustomersworkorderrequirements.VictorAviationhasastateoftheartfullmachineshopcapableof
performingthemostadvancedmachiningprocesses.

PartsPreparation
A)Enginespartsarepreparedforfinalfinishingdependinguponthecustomerworkorderrequirements.B)Aluminumpartsarealodine
corrosiontreatedandpaintedwithhightemperatureenamelpaint.C)Hardware,bracketsandfastenersaresilverCadmiumPlated.

Step9

FivePhaseEngineAssembly
EngineassemblyisperformedbyoneofVictorstopenginemachinistsunderthesupervisionofthechiefengineinspector.Uniqueto
PowerByVictorengines,fivephasesofengineassemblyareinspectedandsignedoffbythechiefengineinspector.

EngineTestingandShipment
Theengineandtestpropellerisinstalledintoahydraulicallyactuatedthrustloadcelltotestforenginepropellerthrustandallengine
operatingparameters.Uponcompletionofenginetestingallenginesarefinalinspectedbythechiefinspectortoassurethatall
operatingparametersmeettheoriginalmanufacturersspecificationsandworkorderdetailrequirements.Thecustomeristhennotified
thattheengineisreadyforshipment,wrappedandcratedforfinalshipmenttoitsdestination.
