August 1999 to Present

Responsible for the direction, management, coordination, and oversight of the security/loss
prevention programs for the largest Hispanic financial institution in the United States.
Provides physical security, loss prevention, security technology integration, and investigative
support for over 230 bank branch offices and facilities in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
Provides security operational support to Popular Inc subsidiaries in Puerto Rico, Latin America and
the Caribbean Basin.
Directly formulates programs, executes and reviews the $12.5 million budget/resources (a total of
twelve separate fund sites) for a 40-employee Asset Protection Division.

Key Achievements:

Reorganized the existing Corporate Security Division and rewrote the Corporate Security
Program to streamline business processes which reduced operational costs by 60 percent.

Raised and maintained a recovery rate of 82 percent or higher in fraud investigations.

Integrated new security technology which increased the cost effectiveness of security programs
with a projected savings of $80,000.00 per year.

Founder and director of the Puerto Rico Financial Crimes Task Force which fully integrated local
and federal law enforcement agencies with the Puerto Rico Bankers Association to combat
financial fraud resulting in a 25% drop in fraud cases.
