Application
Fields of application
Ultradispers W 30 ap is a polymeric dispersing agent. Which can be
differentiated from standard dispersing agents by higher molecular
weight and optimum storage stability. In addition they allow low
foaming, improved pigment stability and a reduced effect of the
dispersed pigment on the rheology of the finished paint or ink. Primary

Usage
The efficiency of the wetting depends primarily on the comparative
surface tension properties of the pigment and the water, as well as the
viscosity of the resultant mix. Ultradispers W 30 adsorb on the
pigment surface, facilitate liquid/solid interfacial interactions and help
to replace the air/solid interface by a liquid medium/solid interface.
Stabilization is achieved by electrostatic as well as steric effect, so that
repulsive forces prevent other particles from approaching close enough
for the attractive Van der Waals forces to cause agglomeration.

Dosage in %
Ultradispers W 30 ap can also be used in combination with nonionic surfactants to take care of pigment flocculation. It is necessary
to optimize the dispersing agent requirement, as higher dose has a
adverse effect on the paint/ink performance.
