Advancing Philanthropy Initiative

ASU Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation

Our vision is the quality of life in communities is strengthened and enriched through effective nonprofit practice.
Our mission is to help build the capacity of the social sector by enhancing the effectiveness of those who lead, manage, and
support nonprofit organizations.
Advancing Philanthropy Initiative
The Advancing Philanthropy Initiative leverages use-inspired, university-based research and education to both understand
and inform the practice of philanthropy.
As a result of our Advancing Philanthropy programming, current and potential philanthropists—individuals and families—
will benefit from knowledge, tools and resources that help them maximize the impact of their contributions, thus raising
the level of effective philanthropic support in the region.
A cabinet of community philanthropists, nonprofit and business leaders provides advice and guidance on our Advancing
Philanthropy programming. We collaborate with nonprofit and philanthropic organizations throughout Arizona and the
Southwest to deliver effective, innovative and relevant philanthropic programming.
