Return Air via Raised Airwall

Introduction
This system is a raised airwall supported from the cleanroom perimeter
wall via stainless steel support brackets providing a continuous opening
at the base of the wall system. This system provides a fully cleanable
detail and allows access into the air chase for inspection purposes.

Details
1. AES Pharma Wall System airwalls are formed using double wall
construction from 2 thick AES Pharma Wall System wall panels,
faced on both sides with smooth, white, uPVC-coated sheet steel.
2. Where required, a curtain wall is fixed to the standard wall panel
to create a clean air chase that eliminates the need for duct work
below ceiling level.
3. The airwall panels are supported with a powder coated aluminum
base rail fixed to the full height wall behind it using stainless steel
brackets at nominal 4 centers.
4. The airwall finishes at the underside of the AES Pharma ceiling
panel with openings formed in the ceiling panel for duct work
connection at the top of the airwall.
5. Return airwall depth and height above finished floor can be varied
to maintain the designed return air velocity.
6. The raised airwall concept eliminates the need for a return air grille
detail and reduces the number of crevices in the room, providing a
cleaner detail.
7. Additionally, AES Pharma Wall System can provide a stainless
steel screen hidden inside of the airwall cavity to prevent
introduction of airborne materials into the return air plenum.

Return Air via Full-Height Return

Introduction
The full height return wall creates a clean plenum utilizing the AES
Pharma Wall system. A return grille is installed in the panel to allow the
air to return to the HVAC system.

Details
1. The return wall panel is constructed from 2 thick AES
Pharma Wall System wall panels, faced on both sides
with smooth, white, uPVC-coated sheet steel.
2. AES Pharma Wall System full height return walls are
formed using double wall construction. Where required
AES Pharma Wall System will provide a box-out detail to
create the return air plenum.
3. The return wall allows the cleanroom floor system to be
coved flush against the low wall return plenum.
4. The return wall finishes at the underside of the AES
Pharma Wall System ceiling panel with openings formed
in the ceiling panel for duct work connection creating a
cleanroom air chase, eliminating the need for duct work
drops below the ceiling level.
5. Return wall depth can be varied to maintain the
designed return air velocity.

Stick-built vs Modular Comparison

for Return Air Detail
AES Pharma System
Pre-engineered, modular
AES wall panels form
return air cavities.

Stick-Built
1. Build cavity wall with
drywall construction
method
2. Add material cost for
sheet metal return air
drops inside of drywall
construction.
3. Add labor cost for
sheet metal contractor
4. Add time in schedule
for sheet metal
contractor.
5. Add time in schedule
for inspection.
