On May 22nd, Major Andrea Van Buren relinquished Command of the Peachtree
DeKalb Senior Squandron and Lt Col Roy Villers took command of the "Tip of the Spear"
sqaudron better known as the GA-130, Peachtree DeKalb Senior Squadron

After serving more than 11 years in the
Civil Patrol Squadron, Lt Col Roy Villers
took command of Ga-130. Lt Col Villers
was joined by his wife, Leslie, Col Tonya
Boylan, Georgia Wing Commander, Lt Col
Richard Greenwood, Vice Commander
Georgia Wing, Lt Col Joe Knight, Chief of
Staff Georgia Wing as well most of the past
GA-130 Commanders and about 30 other
guest and Officers. Once command was
passed to Lt Col Villers, Lt Col Villers
outlined his vision for the Squadron for the
up coming year.

Key Directives Outlined by the Commander:Unit will focus on evolution of the Unit alerting
process
Expand the Units coordination with the other
Federal, State and local agencies
Expand Unit training to better support CAPs
Disaster Preparedness Mission
Unit will support upcoming Group II SAREX in
July

FAA Pilot Proficiency Patch


FAA Wings Program - Wing safety officers will encourage pilot members to participate in the FAA Wings Program. Members who complete the basic phase of this program will be eligible to wear the Pilot Proficiency Patch on flight clothing. Providing
increased awareness through education complements CAP's safety management system. Ref: EX and CC Open Cockpit Jan-Mar 2012
