Metaphysical Meaning of Tamil

Vallalar, the 19th century Immortal Saint Poets works show his versatile genius in a
variety of areas like Atomic Science, Cosmology, Alchemy, Herbal Medicine, Poetry,
Linguistics-Grammar and Integral Yoga. His interpretation of the word Thamizh is
very unique and uses a metaphysical approach.

The Etymology of the word "Thamizh" is an interesting area of research. Linguistic
researchers suggest its meaning to be "Sweetness" or "Self Speech" by splitting the
word into subwords like "Tham","Izh". In this paper, we analyze the meaning of this
word based on the interpretation given by Vallalar. The approach is based on the
"Self Referential" nature of Tamil language, where the alphabets are analyzed
metaphysically to form the composite word meaning. The word "Thamizh" is
composed of 5 measures "Th + A + M + I + Zh" with the 2 vowels A,I signifying
Consciousness Art and the 3 consonants Th,M,Zh signifying the Physical
Consciousness Art. The Consonant-Vowel "ThA" represents the involution and
manifestation of the essential "Pure-Delight Transcendant being" in the mental-
physical plane linked through the Grace Light Consciousness. The Consonant-Vowel
"MI" represents the evolution of the "involved-manifested" being into the
Supramental being that stands above the Overmental and Human being, by a
process of triple transformation. The souls ever manifesting by the Divine
Command-Base relationship are marked to be rightful to experience the Divine goal
of Integral Perfection Delight. The last consonant "Zh" represents the Natural-Truth
specialty sound and signifies the Final Supreme Oneness Delight experience. The
experiencing of ArutPerumJothi(Vast Grace Light), the Natural-Truth experience of
Supramental Perfection Delight through "Pure Oneness" principle, by the involved
pure soul by transforming the inconscient darkness of ignorant nature into Grace
Light through the evolutionary Force is called Thamizh.

An English translation of Vallalar's original explanation of the word "Thamizh" is
given and a novel mental representative diagram consistent with Vallalar's Theory
is derived. Overall, Vallalar's interpretation of Tamil encompasses the traditional
meaning of Sweetness and sheds light into its deeper meaning, that remained
undeciphered over last 2 milleniums. Owing to such a great Truth, an indepth study
of Tamil leads to ontologyical study of human life evolving into a Divine Life.
