Quran and interpretive narratives of the ayahs

4th pack:
Surat Al-Baqarah: Ayah 21 to 29

Aal e Yaasin Scientific Jihad

O Mankind worship your Lord who hath created you and those before you, haply ye
)may become God-fearing-(21
Who hath made the earth for you a carpet and the heaven a structure, and sent
;down from heaven water, and brought forth therewith fruits as a Provision for you
)wherefore set not up compeers unto Allah while ye know.(22
And if ye be in doubt concerning that which We have revealed unto Our bondsman,
then bring a chapter like thereunto, and call your witnesses as against Allah, if ye
)say sooth.(23
But if ye do it not, --and by no means ye shall, --then dread the Fire, the fuel
)whereof is men and stones, gotten ready for the infidels.(24

And bear thou the glad tidings unto those who believe and do righteous works that
verily for them shall be Gardens whereunder rivers flow. So oft as they shall be
provided with a fruit therefrom they will say: this is that wherewith we were
provided afore; and they shall be vouchsafed that which is consimilar; and for them
shall be therein spouses purified, and therein they shall be abiders.(25)
Verily Allah is not ashamed to propound a similitude, be it of a gnat or of aught
above it. Then as to those who believe, they know that it is the truth from their Lord.
And to those who disbelieve, they say what intendeth God by similitude? He
sendeth many astray thereby, and He guideth many thereby, and He sendeth not
astray thereby any except the transgressors,(26)
Who break the covenant of Allah after the ratification thereof, and sunder that
which Allah hath commanded should be joined, and act corruptly on the earth.
These! they are the losers.(27)
How will ye disbelieve in Allah whereas ye were lifeless and he quickened you;
thereafter He will cause you to die, thereafter He will give you life, thereafter unto
Him ye shall be returned!(28)
He it is who created for you all that is on the earth, thereafter He turned to the
heaven, and formed them seven heavens. And He is of everything the Knower.(29)

1) About the interpretation of 21th Ayah, Hasan ibn Ali Al Askari said: Ali ibn
Husayn Zayn al-Abidin said: O Adams children! Worship God and reply when
called. Believe in God and his oneness. Nothing resembles him. He does not
oppress. He is not mean. He is wise and patient. Muhammad (s.a.a.w) is his
prophet and servant. Ali is the best of his family. Muhammads companions
are the best of people and his followers are the most superior. God created
you when you were a semen, then he formed you and patterned you as well
as possible. He did so to your ancestors so that you might be pious and follow
his path. haply ye may become God-fearing could be interpreted in two
ways. One is that God created you and your ancestors so that you might be
pious and God-fearing as he said: I created Jinn and Inss so that they worship
me. Another interpretation is that you should worship God who created you
and your ancestors so that you might fear Hell. May here means should
because God is greater than making trouble for his servant to no avail or
making him hopeless after making him desire something. Do not you see how
God disapproves the ones who break a promise? So God is greater than doing
such a thing. (Bihar-ul-Anvar - 65th volume p 286)

2) About Who hath made the earth for you a carpet and the heaven a
structure, and sent down from heaven water, and brought forth therewith
fruits as a Provision for you; wherefore set not up compeers unto Allah while
ye know Hasan ibn Ali Al Askari quoted from Ali ibn Husayn Zayn al-Abidin:
God set earth in accordance to your bodies and nature. Hi did not make it so
hot that you burn nor so cold that you freeze. He did not set it so fragrant
that you feel headache nor so foul that it irritates you. Earth is not so soft,
like water, that you sink nor so hard that you cannot build your homes and
tombs. So he set it like a carpet for you. God says: the heaven a structure
which means a ceiling under which sun and moon and stars are spinning for
your benefits. Then he says: sent down from heaven water which refers to
the rain which he sends in different types like monsoon or drizzle so that
lands absorb it. He does not send it suddenly because it may hurt you and
your lands. brought forth therewith fruits as a Provision for you which is
what grows from earth as your livelihood. wherefore set not up compeers
unto Allah while ye know means that you should not set idols who does not
have wisdom and does not see nor hear as a counterpart for God. You
yourselves know that they cannot give you what God gives. (Oyun AKhbar
Ar- Ridha Sheykh Saduq Ghaffaris translation 1 st Volume p 278)

3) About the interpretation of And if ye be in doubt concerning that which We

have revealed unto Our bondsman, then bring a chapter like thereunto, and
call your witnesses as against Allah, if ye say sooth Hasan ibn Ali Al Askari
said: God brought an example for those disbelievers who intended to stop
Islam developing: And if ye be in doubt concerning that which We have
revealed unto Our bondsman, then bring a chapter like thereunto, and call
your witnesses as against Allah, if ye say sooth. God says: O Quraysh tribe
and Judes! O people who go away from Islam! O those who are good at
Arabic! if you are in doubt about what we send to our servant and you deny
his prophecy and his miracles like that cloud which accompanied him in his
travels and wars and those trees which saluted him or about those two men
who failed to kill him and Muhammad killed them and those two trees which
receded after coming close together so that he could relieve himself behind
them, bring a Surah like the one those which Muhammad has brought. A man
who had not studied at all and was illiterate and had not seen scientists and
you know him very well. He lived for forty years among you and then was
given a book which is full of wisdom from ancestor societies and others. So
bring an Ayah or a person who can bring his miracles if you are in doubt.
Therefore it will be proven that you are but liars. Because anything which is
not from God will be found among people. If you doubt about him and his
miracles like that yeanling and wolf which talked to people, or that wood

which cried because of separation from Muhammad, or that time when God
prevented those Jude to make his food poisonous and killed them by that
poison. So bring a sentence from Torah or Gospel or Fourteen Texts. How
could it be possible that Muhammads speech be better from other books
which God has sent if it is not from God? O Judes and Christians! Call your
partners, friends and Satans from disbelievers and hypocrites if you believe
that Muhammad has thought up this Book and Ali Ibn Abu Talibs leadership
his cousin is not from God. You could not, you cannot and you will never be
able. Avoid that fire which is made from people and stones, which is ready for
those who deny Gods speech and Muhammad prophecy. If you were right
you should be able to defeat him. (Bihar-ul-Anvar 9 th Volume p175)

4) Muhammad al-Baqir said: God said: O Mankind! a similitude is propounded;

so hearken thereto. Verily those whom ye call upon beside Allah will by no
means create a fly, even though they assembled for that; and if the fly were
to snatch away aught from them, they cannot recover it from him: weak the
seeker and the sought! (Al-Haj: 73) and talked about the ones who are
worshipped while they are unable to create a fly, he also said: The likeness
of those who take other patrons than Allah is as the likeness of the spider
who taketh unto herself a house. And verily the frailest of all houses is the
spider's house - if they but knew! (Al-Ankabut:41) and brought an example
about the one who kindles a fire and about raining. Disbelievers and the
Christians quibbled about these examples. Then God said to Muhammad
Verily Allah is not ashamed to propound a similitude, be it of a gnat or of
aught above it. God will never stop bringing examples of truth for believers
because of shame. Whether it is about a fly or something else. He brings
these examples if they are in benefit of people. Those who believe in God,
Muhammad, Ali Ibn Abu Talib, his children and their orders wont protest nor
feel curious about their secrets and will never disclose them unless Imams
permit. They know these examples are brought to explain a reality. Those
who disbelieve Muhammad and protest to him about given position to Ali Ibn
Abu Talib and do not follow what they are supposed to, say: God guides some
and misguides some with these examples. So they are out of use because the
one who is guided will take advantage but for the one who is misguided will
be a loss. God denies them and says: He sendeth not astray thereby any
except the transgressors. They are only transgressors who will be
misguided. Then he starts to describe them: The ones who break their
promise about Gods mastery and Muhammad prophecy and Alis leadership
and affection toward their followers, although it was a very great promise.
They also break their familial relationship although they should pay attention.
The most important familial relationship and the most necessary right is the

one of Muhammad because their rights are dependent on him. Familial right
becomes necessary with intermediary of parents and Muhammad and his
children right is prior to theirs. Imam continued: and act corruptly on the
earth refers to those criminals who are enemy to Imams and accept
leadership of the ones who are not chosen by God. they are the losers
these people are losers because they go to Hell and they are deprived of
Heaven. Oh what a loss! They will be in torment forever. Those who accept
the things from us while they do not know about them, will be but in path of
truth. God guides him to those great palaces which he cannot dream of. And
those who leave arguing and surrender themselves to us and stop harming
others, angels will argue about their actions. A call comes at this moment
which tells the angels to leave arguing because this man did not argue about
Imams, bring him to Heaven near his masters in order to profit from them.
But angels will tell those who protest and always ask: We should keep you
here and argue about your actions because you used to argue about Imams.
A call comes to angels: You are right. Do the same business to him. Angels
keep him for a long time and he will be in a great torment for those
arguments. What a regretful he will be! Nothing can save him but Gods
mercy if he is still religious. Otherwise he will be in Hell forever. (Bihar-ulAnvar 9th Volume P177)

5) Hasan ibn Ali Al Askari quoted from Ali Ibn Abu Talib: He it is who created
for you all that is on the earth, thereafter He turned to the heaven, and
formed them seven heavens. And He is of everything the Knower, It was God
who created all that is on earth so that you learn lessons and arrive to
Paradise and keep yourselves safe from fire of Hell. So he started to create
and strengthen the sky. So he created seven skies, one on the other one. He
is wise in everything. That is why he knows the interests of his servants. O
Adams child! He created all that is on earth for your interests. (Oyoun
Akhbar Ar-Ridha Sheykh Saduq Aghanajafis translation 1stVolume p
521)
