POLICE DEPARTMENT
Incumbent serves as Secretary-Special Services and Community Policing for the Anderson
Police Department, responsible for performing various clerical and data entry duties, assisting
department personnel, and the public. This position will possess an emphasis in the areas of
Crime Watch-Community Policing.
DUTIES:
Assists Training Coordinator with reports, memorandums, and related documents, including
but not limited to, letters and state mandated annual training reports to Indiana Law
Enforcement Academy (ILEA) and Department of Toxicology, updating department phone
directory, maintaining department personnel information in medical files, and submitting data
for division annual reports.
Assists with schedules various Police training to outside agencies, including registering
Officers for required training, making reservations for transportation and lodging, and
communicating travel arrangements with Officers and Supervisors.
Assists with training documents, such as training requests, travel authorization forms,
and purchase requests. Forwards Expense Reports for reimbursement as required.
Assists with coordinating department training, creating and posting bulletins and signup
sheets and emailing supervisors, preparing training rosters, recording attendance,
maintaining training hours database, and providing invoices to outside agencies for
attendance. Posts outside seminars on bulletin board.
Assists with daily activities of parking garage accounts and cash balances. Completes
proper forms for cash deposits, prepares and submits cash flow reports to Executive
Office.
Composes and types letters, memorandums, forms, reports, and related documents for Executive
Staff, Training- Special Services Division, and appropriately files all completed documents.
Answers telephone and greets office visitors, determines nature of call, responds to
inquiries and/or routes caller to appropriate person or department.
Attends Community Policing events and monthly meetings.
Assists in updating and maintaining Departmental Rules and Regulations Manual. Types all
General Orders and forwards updates to all personnel.
Assists Administration with various department operations, including: requests, requisitions,
processing department mail, distributing department documents, and posting ledger accounts,
as needed.
Occasionally assists Records Division personnel with performance of their duties such
