The barbarians are warring

The orcs have grown bolder

The halflings have not come
Dark men from the east
The roads become Dangerous
A group of dwarves seek the gate of their ancestral home in the
Mountains. They are impatient and quick to temper.
What is really happening:
The force in the east has called out to its servants of old. The orcs are
beginning to move. The beasts trapped in the mountain strain against
their chains. The Nolden Elves are real, and are preparing to shore up
their defenses.
One of the men attempting to become thain is under the sway of the
force in the east.
The barbarians have been set against eachother by the dark men from
the east. Their warring has kept the halflings from travel.
The Ancient enemy of free peoples is attempting to separate and
slowly crush the various kingdoms before he reveals himself and
begins his conquest again.
The Nolden Elves know of him.
The Eversmith deep in the mountain knows of him.
The Eversmith: a dwarf beyond age. He is an immortal, and one of the
first peoples. He is the only survivor from the time of legends. His craft
is skillful. He keeps the mountain shut, for within is chained many great
servants of the Enemy. His task is neverending. He forges and
maintains their chains and prisons. He will not go to war, though he will
help if pressed. His long years have made him a pacifist.
To the east: in the great wild, many are aware of the rising evil. Those
that chose to live in the lands surrounding the sundering swamp know
that orcs and evil men have congregated there. the small communities
are beset by terrible beasts and orcs. They have attempted to send for
help, though the enemy has guarded the roads carefully. He is slowly
retaking fortressess of old and shoring up his forces.

Magic and Legendary Weapons of the Area:

Chernabogs Mallet: Crafted in the days of old by the eversmith. This
was the hammer that brought down the dragon Farfink. It is a +1
warhammer. If the name of Chernabog is spoken while the handle is
gripped, acts as a flametounge weapon. Upon its side is written
In the days of darkness waking
When shadows cloak the plain
The dwarves of old come calling
To stake their rightful claim.

The

Mountain locked by magic

Halls are locked by steel
Door lies cold and hidden
strong shall break the seal

By foot to tooth shall travel

Yet stop along the way
And in the glade undying
The foolish only stay
Where sundered lies the mountain
The brave shall ever try
Up to the face of ancients
Where stones of old shall cry
And there the door shall stop them
And barred shall be the path
Until the anvil quivers
And wakes old Dwarven wrath
The Hammer may be found deep in the Giants Graveyard. Within lies a
stone in the shape of a bear sleeping. One of dwarven blood striking
the stone with a steel weapon causes the stone to shatter. Within lies
the Hammer of the Eversmith.
Nolden Bows:
Durns Helm:
Black tooth:
Cloak of the betrayer:

Shadowbane: acts as a really good radiant weapon, however the light

is from a soul of a living being. When plunged into the heart of the
enemy, the enemy will be killed forever, but in so doing the wielder will
die. That is the final choice.
The sword lies in enemy territory. It must be recovered and brought
back to the eversmith. The enemy will know when it is taken and give
chase.
Human servants only call him the dark lord. Only when he is ready will
the banner of the black wyrm unfurl. And even then men will not
believe.
He will ride firstly to the mountains, and to hammerfall, to release his
true army.
Then he shall sweep the world clean, and all will be shadow.
The dwarven city is home to the eversmith, who guards the dead. The
dwarven city is called hammerfall.
