APPLY TO THE FACULTY

CTU has 8 independent faculties. Each faculty manages its own study programmes,
has its own requirements and application deadlines. You first have to choose the
study programme, and then you should apply for admission directly to the faculty
of your choice.

Acceptance

If you are accepted, CTU will issue a letter of acceptance and a financial agreement
and in addition a confirmation of accommodation at a CTU dormitory if your
accommodation application was submitted in time and was successful.

CTU has several dormitories. We highly recommend that you ask the faculty
to reserve a place for you at one of these. The prices differ according to the
dormitory you choose. Once you have been offered a place on a study programme,
the faculty will send you confirmation of your reservation at a dormitory. This

After being accepted for studies in the Czech Republic, the student must turn to the
local Czech embassy and apply for a visa. The whole procedure for obtaining a visa
for study purposes can take as much as 60-90 days. It is therefore recommended
to apply for the visa well in advance.
Applicants for a long-term stay (over 90 days). You can register in VISAPOINT
to submit the application. Ask at the Czech embassy if VISAPOINT is available
in your country.

If not, you have to submit all required documents in person at the Czech Embassy.
Students arriving for a period longer than 90 days apply for a long-term residence
permit for study purposes. The following documents are mainly required for
receiving a student visa:
A completed visa application form
2 passport photos
A valid passport
A letter of acceptance for studies from CTU
Confirmation of guaranteed accommodation
A document confirming the availability of funds to cover the costs of your stay
Valid international health insurance
Upon request of the administrative body the applicant also submits
An excerpt from the Penal Register (or a similar document)
A medical report certifying that you do not suffer from a serious disease

VALIDATION OF
PREVIOUS EDUCATION

University degree validation (bachelor or master) is carried out by the CTU


Department for Study and Student Affairs and it is required with your application
to the faculty of your choice for a master or doctoral degree. If your original
documents are issued in English, you do not need to have them translated into
Czech language.
Fee for validation at CTU in Prague: CZK 0
For students entering a bachelor study programme, secondary education
is validated by the Prague City Council. Documents translated into Czech language
are needed. As this process might be difficult to do from your home, the faculties
can issue an pre-acceptance letter for you and you will be required to obtain the
