Magazine Name

F.M.L

I have chosen the magazine name "F.M.L" becuase the age rande my
magazine is aimed at it 16 - 24 year olds and this generation is familiar with
the abbreviations for certain sayings, eg. Lol or Lmao. The term F.M.L people
know to mean **** my life however I have changed it to mean "For Music
Lovers" to link in with the type of magazine. People will see F.M.L and relate
to it so this will immediatly draw them in and even though I have changed
the meaning I still have their attention.

Genre/Subgenre
Indie/Pop punk/Punk Rock

I have chosen these genres because they are all quite different and so it
attracts a much wider audience getting more readership for my magazine.
While they are quite different they are not too different to totally clash with
each other and not give and specific "type" to my magazine.

The bands that will be featured are bands like Green Day, Arctic Monkeys,
Kings of Leon, Panic at the Disco and other bands similar.

Sell Line
The Best Place For.Music.Lovers

I've chosen this sell line because in the masthead is just "F.M.L" which is the
abbreviated version of my magazines official name and so I've put the official
name in the sell line. I've used the best "Best" because it tells the reader that
if they love music then this is the best magazine for them.

Frequency
Weekly

I've chosen to sell my magazine weekly because it allows me to have a

relatively low price but still make money due to it selling weekly. It also
shows the reader that the magazine will be up to date with the music
industry because it will contain new news every week.
Price
£1.60

I've chosen this price because it's relativly low so anybody will be able to
afford it. However its not too low to make the impression that the magazine
isn't very good and so the price is low just so people would buy it. Because
it's a weekly magazine it still allows money to be made because people are
buying it each week so I can afford to have a low price.

Target Audience
My target audience will be people between the age of 16 - 24 who is
interested in indie/pop rock and punk rock music. They will be
interested in gigs and tours, new artists and reviews.

It will be aimed at people of any race and sexuality and will be for both
men and women. There will be no bias towards any race, gender or
sexuality.

It will more than likely be more of a middle class person that will buy
my magazine who is interested in long hair, skinny jeans, drinking,
swearing and smoking. More upperclass people will probably not be
interested in the contents and bands featured.

Front Cover Image

Beki Smith "New Artist"

Bright colours, fun pose. This shows the audience the magazine is fun and
lively and delivers new artists.

Cover Lines

•Main cover line - Beki Smith , Interview Exclusive! "My twist to

traditional punk" & "Why I use my heartbreak as inspiration.

I have chosen this main cover line because its and "exclusive
interview" telling the reader that they wont get the inteview in any
other magazines but mine. I've also used quotes from the artist to
attract the reader and make them want to read on more.

•Crackin the Pavement - Tour Dates

•Alice Rose - New Album!

PLUS more interviews with *Green Night* *Arctic Chimps* *10

Seconds to Mars* *Kings of Tony* AND LOADS MORE!

I have chosen these smaller cover lines because it gives examples of the
bands that will be in the magazine for people who aren't interested in hearing
about new artists or aren't interested the the genre of the artist in the main
image. The smaller stories also say that there's going to be tour dates and
new albums by artists they already know so they are familiar with some of
the contents.

More On The Cover

• Smaller images of stories featured

• Magazine price
• Issue number
•Date of issue

The magazine price is really a neccessity for the front cover because it tells
the reader how much the magazine is. I have chosen this issue to be number
109, this tells the reader that the magazine is popular and succesful
otherwise it wouldn't have been running for so long. By having smaller
images of the other stories featured it allows the audience to see the band
incase they do know and like the bands but just can't remember the name.

Contents Page
•New artists
•Upcoming gigs and tours
•New album releases
•Reviews

The contens page will tell the reader what to expect throughout the
magazine. The contents page is important so the reader doesn't get lost and
can find exactly what they want without having to read through the things
they don't. The contents page will also contain images of the stories
throughout the magazine.

Double Page Spread

New Artist Beki Smith, exclusive interview. New album out soon and
announcing tour dates around the country. Talking about how she
makes her music, her inspiration behind it and how she is handling the
new found fame.

Shows the audience that my magazine delivers what it promises because the
main image is of this new artist and so the main article should also be about
the main image.
