talking about Jesus, which is resulting in an explosion of their
countrymen coming to faith in Christ. What accounts for this
dynamic growth? I would contend that in China, disciples, not
converts, are being made. Believers in China seem to be focus-
ing on Jesus and, as they learn from Him, they are becoming
more like Him. It is convicting to me that, although many of
these disciples do not own even one copy of God’s Word, they
seem to be living it out in tremendous power.

What about America? What testimony is being floated

What do they do? “Thank you for invest-
ing your prayers and gifts in the Hatam
people group of West Papua, Indonesia,
through our pioneering, church planting
and Bible translation ministry since we
became part of TEAM 54 years ago. What a privilege we’ve
had to be your hands and feet as we increasingly shared
God’s Good News with over 110 Hatam churches throughout
those years!”
Praises:
• “The Hatam believers, thanks to your perseverance in prayer,
finally have their complete Bible.”
• “Thank you for the years you’ve invested to see God do this
life-changing miracle…Hatam believers, able to read their
own language, listen to a sermon in Hatam, following verses
with the complete Hatam Bible in their hands! This tribe is
among a privileged few in their country and they realize it.
Prayer Requests:
• For Rev. Simson D. as he translates from Indonesian into
Hatam a simple doctrine book to enable pastors to discern
error. Cults abound there.
• For the Hatam hymnal to be reprinted with fresh songs
added. Dick had compiled this over 15 years ago.
Mike & Son, One Son
Africa
What do they do? Mike and Sue were formerly church planters
primarily among business people in West Africa. They re-
cently changed locations, moving to a city of 220,000. Mike
is currently international pastor of the only protestant church
in their city, made up of expatriates. Sue plans and leads
music for the church. They see people coming to the Lord
often. Sue is the sister of John Porter.
Praises:
• For 300 who came to their Christmas Carol Service—high-
est attendance had been 49.
• For their resident visa.
• For better church attendance—4 record breaking Sundays
over 50.
• For lay people serving in the church.
• Their lives will be simpler with the arrival of their new sub-
compact car.
Prayer Requests:
• For fine tuning the church sound system.
• Vision for the future of the church.

Jeff & Melissa
Asia
What do they do? Jeff and Melissa are in a restricted access
nation, both serving as English teachers at their host univer-
sity. They focus on the 30,000 students in their city. Their
vision is to see a group of national teachers and students
meeting together regularly for worship and reaching out
to others in ministry. They seek to identify students with
spiritual interest.
Praises:
• The student fellowship that began 6 years ago has grown to
60-70 students.
• Five couples from the student fellowship have been married
in the last 2 ½ years.
Prayer Requests:
• For God’s continued blessing on the fellowship.
• Ask that students would grow deeper in their faith so they
would be equipped to follow Him after graduation.
• For people in the fellowship to reach out to non-Christians
who visit.
• That there would soon be a group of teachers meeting regu-
larly on their campus for worship.
• For wisdom as to the best way to proceed with the teacher
campus worship.
Peggy McCracken
Mission Board: Campus Crusade/
Christian Embassy
Location: Washington, DC
What does she do? Peggy’s ministry
is evangelism and discipleship
with women ambassadors, wives
of ambassadors, and women chiefs of staff to members of
the US Congress. She pursues avenues in hard to reach areas
of the world represented in Washington in embassies, gets
to know non-believers in casual settings by creating social
events where they feel comfortable, begins new groups and
does follow-up.
Praises:
• Record snowfalls resulted in government offices being closed
4 days in a row, however Peggy’s power held fast.
Prayer Requests:
• For women ambassadors and women on Capitol Hill as they
begin a study in the book of Colossians.
• For wives of ambassadors as they study Mary Magdalene-

• For planning for the Annual Washington “Escape” weekend
with Chuck Swindoll as speaker April 23-25.
• For one of the women ambassadors as she leaves Washington
for a new assignment in an area that needs the gospel.
